PostSubject: Henry VII, King of Princes - Author: Pen-Y-Bryn   Henry VII, King of Princes - Author: Pen-Y-Bryn EmptyThu Jul 16, 2015 7:57 am

Hi all, I posted this on Chatterbox before I noticed a separate forum for Amazon Kindle. Please forgive. Henry VII, King of Princes - Author: Pen-Y-Bryn 976521
I have at last published my book on Amazon Kindle. It is available on all 13 of Amazon on line shops word wide. I have published the book under a pseudonym Pen-Y-Bryn.
Once in Amazon just ask for Henry VII, King of Princes. Author Pen-Y-Bryn

I hope every one likes it as much as I've liked doing all the research, writing, re-writing dozens of times.
There's lots of real history featuring real people, lots of fiction and fictional people and as you can imagine in a saga stretching over 16 years in the life of Henry VII and his uncle Jasper Tudor, there are romances, sword fights, battles mostly real, love affairs, intrigue, attempted assassinations, friendships real and imaginary. I've tried to highlight within the pages the misconception regarding this man of destiny. For even today, a direct descendant of Henry VII is sitting on the throne of England. The old enmity between who was considered Anglo-Saxon and who was Welsh when one considers our DNA on the Anglo-Saxon side you have a high percentage of Welsh mater genes, there is no longer any real stigma about a Welsh victory in 1485AD.

I feel good now that I have a publication I can really belong to Published Authors Forum. cheers

At the beginning of the book just after author's notes I have listed all The cast of characters mentioned in the book.
Some have been mentioned just for context, some for bit parts and some who played a major part. There are also a number of fictitious characters to help the story along. Looking at the list should give some idea as to the extent of my research.

The Cast of characters mentioned in the book
A brief synopsis of the characters, all genuine historical figures other than those indicated as fictional:
The Tudors of Anglesey – Henry VII, born Harri Tudor, was a descendent of the Tudors of Anglesey, warlords and warriors of renown. The family ruled in Anglesey and North Wales for many generations, amongst whom were kings and princes of Wales, back to the time of Cadwaladr, King of Gwynedd circa 655AD. One of the most outstanding feats of the Tudors occurred in 1400AD when only 40 men of the clan captured the impregnable Conway Castle and held it against all odds.
Harri Tudor – Henry VII, King of England and Wales, master tactician and heroic warrior king who plotted the downfall and defeat of Richard III at the Battle of Mancetter (Battle of Bosworth) in 1485AD and established the reign of the Tudors. Henry VII was the king who laid the foundation that made Britain great. Even today, Harri Tudor has a direct descendent sitting on the throne of the United Kingdom.
Jasper Tudor – A warrior of renown, who fought in many battles, his most notable victory besides the Battle of Mancetter (Battle of Bosworth) was when he inflicted a humiliating defeat on one of Edward IV’s lieutenants, Lord Vaughan at the Battle of Chepstow when vastly outnumbered. Jasper was an uncle of Henry VII who guided Harri during his years in exile and taught him all the skills of warfare and leadership. During those years in exile, he kept in close contact with the leaders of the Welsh patriots and the House of Lancaster. Formerly Earl of Pembroke until attainted by Edward IV. He was created 1st Duke of Bedford after the Battle of Mancetter (Battle of Bosworth) in 1485AD.
Cadwaladr ap Cadwallon – King of Gwynedd circa 655–685AD.
Madog – Fictitious character an unknown warrior who took over leadership of Jasper’s army when he went into exile.
Edward Plantagenet – Edward IV, King of England, a great warrior king and long time enemy of the Tudors.

It's actually more simple than it looks. the main characters all have relatives so it's necessary to place them into the picture to see where the main characters are heading.
A really good example of this is the undoubted friendship between the two Tudor's and Francis II of Brittany. Francis refused all sorts of rewards to return Harri Tudor to the English court, for a supposedly good marriage and titles. Francis knew that the moment Harri reached England he would be a dead man.
In the face of the English monarchy, Francis conferred his Land and Titles in England that he had inherited through Henry II of England and France. Namely, the Earldom of Richmond and the vast tact of land in North Yorkshire known as the Hope of Richmond to Harri. Why would he have done this had there not been a very close bond between them? So although Henry II is named in the cast of characters, he plays no part in the story. There are many instances like this, names being mentioned to put the story into perspective.

Thank you Shelagh, DKChristi & Abe. I must confess I gave up on my book for nearly three years, untill about 5 months ago. My son in Oz asked me when I'm going to publish and quite frankly, I was a bit nervous about publishing. Well he egged me on so I decided not to waste all my research and just went for it.
At least I can now really belong to Published Authors.  Shocked

Hi Shelagh, I applied to three bloggers to review my book. All of them had said that they were not open to taken on any more books, I applied anyway.
I was overjoyed when one of them wrote back and has agreed to review the book. This is the reply from the blogger:
Thank you for contacting me regarding your book! I am definitely am interested in reading/reviewing it for my blog! More than likely I will not be able to get to it right away, as I have 3 other books ahead of it to read as well. However, I am completely fascinated by Henry VII's life, and would love to learn more about him.
I have a kindle fire, so if you are able to send me a mobi file that would be great!
I have written to Amazon to find out about 'mobi files' and how to get free copies where necessary. If any one on this forum knows, please advise. Very Happy
Llew
