Can Humans Hibenate? Empty

Is it time for Humans to learn Hibernation?
Seniors are constantly threatened with a reduction in Social Security and loss of Medical Care.  What would happen if the Senior went into hibernation, especially during the winter months?  No heating bill or other utilities, no food to purchase and it would be an excellent weight-loss program. In addition, healthcare wouldn’t be needed.  And, during the hibernation, the SS checks could accumulate so that when one is out of hibernation they would have money to spend.  On the other hand, the GOP would figure out a way to avoid paying SS checks during hibernation.

I did a search and here is what I found:
“Often associated with low temperatures, the function of hibernation is to conserve energy during a period when sufficient food is unavailable. To achieve this energy saving, an endotherm will first decrease its metabolic rate, which then results in a decreased body temperature. Hibernation may last several days, weeks, or months depending on the species, ambient temperature, time of year, and individual's body condition.
Before entering hibernation, animals need to store enough energy to last through the entire winter. Larger species become hyperphagic and eat a large amount of food and store the energy in fat deposits. In many small species, food caching replaces eating and becoming fat. Some species of mammals hibernate while gestating young, which are either born while the mother hibernates or shortly afterwards

It is something to consider.  Hibernating clinics could be set up to induce hibernation.  The danger of that is that enterprising people would make the cost of hibernation unaffordable.
Our capitalistic society just doesn’t allow for people to live without paying for the privilege.

Your thoughts.
