                         To all my good friends here, we've been through thick and thin, we have argued our
     point and yet here we are , we always stick up for each other, we worry when one of us gets ill,
     we mourn when we loose one of our own, we have another year and I want to wish everyone
     a very healthy, happy Christmas and may the world have peace and may the world adore him
     Christ the lord.....

Merry Christmas, Joe! 

Joe, we're six hours ahead of the East Coast time in the US.  I'm in the process of getting ready to sing in the Choir for our Christmas Eve service.  It is a lovely event where the children put on a play.  We sing and then hear the Christmas story.  Afterwards, we wish each other best wishes and then go home to have a Christmas Eve dinner.  It is simple fare with wine, a variety of hors d'oveures, together with a Stange of bread.  Afterwards, we open our Christmas presents and then a bit of Sekt (Campagine) with lots of hugs.

Thank you Abe for being in Germany and extending Christmas.  Reminds me to contact my friend in Austria.

Best of the holiday season to everyone on this forum and those in your heart.  May joy and peace surround you during the holidays and continue in the days that follow.

Every year I post the same Christmas story of that Christmas celebration that Joe remembers - when the Christmas spirit and love were the primary celebrations and gifts came from the heart.  

When I wrote Bamboo Ring, I found an excuse to include the Christmas story - a true story as told to me by those for whom a Christmas Eve in the late 1960's was truly their Christmas miracle.
