I'm staying with my parents. Yesterday, I visited my mother's youngest sister, who has an award-winning garden. I used my brother's ipad to make a video of the garden:

It is beautiful, Shelagh. A lot of work went into it, for sure. Love, Betty

Absolutely gorgeous. Such good use of the small space.

How many years to finish? It's lovely. In the middle of other houses, too. I had friends who had a pie shaped lot. They put their house on the point and bull-dozed the rest, adding little ponds, bridges and a plethora of small trees. It was in the middle of a housing track, they were just at the outer corner. It was a beautiful place for contemplation.
In Key West, a family's garden is so serene that they leave it open to the public to drop in to meditate. Wow.

The garden was open to the public last year and people said that although it was one of the smallest gardens available for public viewing, it was their favourite. Some went off to visit other gardens and came back!

Shelagh..
That is one of the most beautiful, peaceful places I've seen in a long time. Your Aunt may want to see if she can find in the nurseries there a tree called " Little Gem Magnolia," It grows slowly, has large white fragrant Magnolia Flowers just like it's large cousin Old Southern Magnolia Tree, in this country I think I paid $30- $35- for a three to four foot tree, check it out at your nurseries.
