As a former student of martial arts, I enjoyed the interview and would likely enjoy her book. I started martial arts training as a result of a life changing trauma at 19. I stayed with it until I was in competition in Chicago and took a barely held punch that took away my air and I hit the floor. It scared me from further engagement that took me from my own dojo. However, the lessons remained with me and still benefit me in small, subconscious ways.

One of the interesting bits in the the magazine article is that in Maybe I Will, the gender of the teen is never revealed.
