Greeters Group

Was thinking this forum may need a few Greeters possibly. The "job" would be simple, just to greet the new members of the forum and give them friendly tips and hints to get started. It'd be a good way for members to meet others on the forum and such and feel a little more welcomed, though I'm sure there are some that welcome newbies regularly, but, ya know. Just a thought.

That is a cool thought. Shelagh greets everyone and a few of us try - but it's not always consistent. As for hints - not too many given.

You'll find a stack of newbies on the Welcome board waiting to be greeted. Go to it!

Is there anything particular you want in the greeting or not really?

That there are many different writers here from all levels of writing, multiple styles and different backgrounds which is exciting. Also that there are many threads with great information that has already been posted. That their thoughts might not catch on at first, but over time, they will find their rhythm and be heard. That many people read this site without posting, so beware that they are writing in a very public place that is picked up by search engines and available everywhere for nearly forever - think before posting - and post as though the sale of your next book depends on it - it might. That there are people here who drop in and out over the years and have established forum friendships that are special to them - but new friends are welcome.

Right. Well, I will get to greeting, but it probably won't be till after Easter weekend when I won't be busy with family and friends.
