You have me intrigued. I will have to look into those questions.

Meantime, there are others here who might know.

I have been looking, too. Saints seem to be entirely Catholic. I wonder why there are no regular, run of the mill, protestant saints. In fact, I wonder why no one has applied for sainthood while they were living, or even been nominated for sainthood by their "followers". Even Billy Graham has not been declared a Saint, not any other evangilist..........Well, I can understand that, but it seems to me that the designation of sainthood had been sadly neglected in the other than Catholic churches. Surely, there are some good and decent and people without a lot of sin that could be named or nominated as saints in the Baptist, (well, maybe not them) or another religion.

Love,

Betty

My David does not take me seriously. He said it all has to do with Martin Luther and Uncle Tom and some space machine. Snort! Of course, I do not hear very well. That may not be what he said at all.

Love,

Have you asked Joyce Ann? she would probably know.

I guess protestants don't believe in saints.

Don't know the answer Betty, however I think Saints are designated only by the Catholic church.

I think it would be interesting to nominate people for Sainthood. At least it is a positive thing. We renounce many people for evil, why not promote those who work for the good of others?

The Catholic Church has very strict rules about designating a saint. I've seen movies with that as a theme, but that's all I know and I spent 15 years in the Catholic Church!

The motion to grant SAINT status to Betty has been moved and seconded. Is there any discussion?

I am no Saint!!!!I would not want the job. The pressure to be good and to right all the time would kill me. Thanks for the smile. Now, Wooffer could have been a dog Saint if everyone would overlook the time he caught a baby rabbit and ate is all except the feet.

Love, Betty

Betty,

Sainthood is of Catholic origin. There are no living saints, normally a person is not even considered for sainthood until five years after their death. Sister Theresa was an exception and was beatified almost immediately.

Dear D. J.

Thank you for taking my question in the serious mode that I meant it. I do not know a single person who would be deemed a saint, but I know some saintly people, Not a one of them is perfect in character, or life, but I would call them saintly...you are on the top of the list.

Love,

Betty

Betty,

Thanks...but I'm not even close. Ten ears in the service...three tours in combat...I've done things only the government and the devil could have condoned. Twisted Evil
But I'm thrilled you think so!!! Saints 846271
