| Yum! My wife and I will cook seafood for Christmas Eve and most likely lasagna for Christmas Day. We're still tired from cooking (and eating) turkey from Thanksgiving and ham, while always nice, is just not fattening enough. |

| I'm sure we'll all agree that whatever Joe serves, and we serve for our own families, what will make the meal is the people around the table. I'd choose stale bread and three-day-old leftovers with family/friends over the best that a Michellin multi-star restaurant can offer if it has to be consumed alone or with complete strangers. Whatever one's religion (or lack thereof) the magic of the holidays is that it can transform the most meager of meals into a feast through the power of love. |

| Don't often cook for Christmas Day anymore. It's generally a quiet day since the kids tend to spend it with their dad and his extended family (stepbrothers, nieces, nephews, etc.)
It's been that way for some time. I stopped trying to fight it years ago.
Dave and his family will arrive in SA on the 30th and stay through the 4th. Haven't heard from Susan & Jim yet, but their time is always split between her families and his, since he is from Fredericksburg, which most of you know by now is only a short drive north.
For a long time now, Christmas has been, for me, the day (or days) I get together with my kids. I still don't know what those days will be. Whatever I cook, it won't likely be traditional. They will be getting their fill of that. Tinga, maybe - it's one of their favorites.
Me, on Christmas day? I plan on going to the opening of Les Miz, at whichever theater has the best food and wine. (They do that here these days.) |

Very well stated!
Good for you Ann. I deeply admire your reaction to what some/MANY would view as adversity.
