Redstone's Valley is up and running

In some places, at least.

Smashwords has it available now, but the premium catalog will take a bit longer, so it isn't on Nook yet. Kindle says 12 hours. There will be a paperback version available sometime in August - early August, I hope.

Whew!! I have done nothing much since I got back from NJ after midnight Monday, other than get this thing finally finished and ready to go.

Sorry I've been so silent. Maybe now I can actually converse a little, and, before long, get my last pics of Jaycie up.

I have a few things to do between now and Tuesday, for Dave & family. They're leaving on vacation, and I've promised to get some files emailed to them by then.

I'm pretty exhausted right now, but am getting re-acclimated to my own routines.

Hopefully, I will soon be caught up on what all is going on with you guys.

I decided to drop the price a dollar, so it will be $6.99, just a dollar higher than the Kindle/Smashwords/Nook price of $5.99.

I'm told it will take 5-7 days for it to be listed on Amazon and other online bookstores. It will also be available through other distributors, so that it can be ordered at bookstores.

Ann, I think I'll wait until it's up on Amazon. The shipping costs are the consideration. Once on Amazon, I should be able to order it via Amazon.de.

When shipping costs exceed the price of the book, it's not good.

What are your celebration and book launch plans?

For now, I'm celebrating the writing/printing process being completed. Sunday is my birthday. Lynn and Chris are taking me on a free trip to the farmer's market on Saturday, and I will get whatever vegetables are freshest, and cook some them for our family dinner, which has been postponed from tomorrow until Sunday so we can be together on my birthday. Then, on Monday I will cook the rest of whatever I got for my birthday treat, so that I will have fresh-tasting veggies for a week or so, and after that I will finally have a little time to think.

Between getting the book ready for publication and flying to NJ for almost three weeks so I could help Dave with Jaycie while her Mom was in Greece, then coming back and finalizing everything, I haven't had much time to think about the marketing phase. One of the main reasons for using Kindle and CreateSpace is that the funds for other sources are not available right now, so whatever I decide to to re book launching will have to be as cost-free as possible.

I will shift my focus to marketing then. Right now, I have some ideas floating around, but have been too busy doing the work of writing to worry about what comes next.

Several copies have sold already, just through word-of-mouth, and sales have picked up on the short-story anthology as well, so I have some space to get it together.

Everything comes in its own time.

Still waiting for the "look Inside" feature for the paperback edition both here and in Europe, but it is up for Kindle versions.

My copy is on the way. I ordered the paperback. I notice that the cover is changed. I had a hard time with covers on createspace and used one of theirs. I need to figure out the insertion of pictures in the story as well. Redstone's Valley looks great.

Yes, I know what you mean. CreateSpace insists on 300 dpi images, which puts a bit of a cramp on what you can do. I fiddled with their cover creator for ages, but I like what we eventually came up with.
