| For anyone thinking of purchasing a netbook/ultramobile laptop, I can thoroughly recommend the ASUS EEE PC 1000. I travel a lot, and I find carting my full size laptop around to be a pain in the neck, back and arms, so I bought one of these. It's fantastic. It has an 80 gigabtye hard drive, windows XP, wireless enabled and is smaller than a sheet of A4 paper and weighs just over 1 kg. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Whew--I though something weird had happened. Glad to see that it's an electronic offspring Jenny!! LOL! You and I are likeminded. I bought a small super duper laptop two years ago that I can actually fit into an oversized handbag. Have fun with it! |

| Love thos British abbreviations. In the States, the best I have run across was used by a late friend of mine ( a great writer named Ross Spencer) from Youngstown, Ohio. For a return address he used Yoho. It seemed to work. |

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Nice, what do you think of this thing. I have an MSI Wind on pre-order which is similar to the 1000 |

| I thought about getting an MSI Wind, but the battery life put me off. All the reviews (and there are a number) state that the Wind's battery lasts 2 hours at best, whereas the EEC PC 1000 comes with a 6 cell battery that lasts over 6! It also comes with the lastest LAN connections, which means you can use it just about anywhere on the planet. The keyboard, like the Wind is 95% of a full sized board. The only thing against the EEE is the weight. It's slightly heavier than the Wind, but that's because the battery is larger. MSI originally stated the Wind would ship with a 6 cell battery, but this changed and they now only ship with a 3 cell battery. All-in-all, I think the EEC with its better spec and battery life, is a better buy. |

Yes thats what I have pre-ordered - the six cell MSi wind whenever it arrives because it is cheaper than the eeepc. I'm glad you like it though! If my wind doesn't arrive, I'll probably get the aspire one - I just love the blue color. |

| MSI won't be releasing a 6 cell version of the MSI wind until sometime in September, at the earliest. At present the Wind is shiping with a 3 cell battery, so you may have a long wait in store. The Acer Aspire One, which I also looked at, only ships with a 3 cell battery - so like the Wind, it's only good for a couple of hours use. The Aspire built quality put me off. The EEE PC 1000 is a very sturdy little machine and the battery life amazing. I know a couple of people who bought a Wind only to return it to the shop and exchange it for the EEE pc instead. |

| I saw a review in Micro Mart (a computer magazine) about the Advent 4211 from PC World it basicly a MSI Wind but repackaged and selling at £279.99 not bad given the specs. |

| The ADVENT 4211, is an MSI wind in all but name. However doesn't have bluethooth and the lan connection is old technology, where as the Asus EEE pc has the latest, which will also allow you to connect to 3g phones. It also has bluetooth. To answer your question, I live in Sheffield, Yorkshire, UK. |
