What Are You Glad About?

I am glad my back is better, that fall is here and that today is my Mother-in-laws 91st birthday.
I sat wrong last week and oh my--you never want to know how miserable its been .

Tall people should have been made without backs.

Another good thing, we go to Michigan in 10 days.

My mother -in-law loved her birhday party. She even liked her gift--we think.

I am glad that the weather is turning cooler. It means a tamale making day is just around the corner.

I just got a funny email from my grandson.

We had another weekend of rain, and more is expected later in the week. The wildfires have ended.

I'm glad that I have a comfortable place to live and feel safe. I am sorry for those without homes, employment and a guaranteed meal.

I walked to the Madenburg castle today with Hermann Frech, the subject of my story. "On the Way to Siberia". We had dinner there with a great view of the countryside. Whenever I walk with him I get a history lesson. I'm glad I have him as a friend.

Like DK, i'm glad for a comfortable, safe place to live. i'm also glad for my family, for good food, healthcare, and for a few coins in my pocket. I'd like everyone to have the same.

I just got good news--Jonah finally lost his first tooth!

He is in the second grade.

I'm glad that when I fell into partial splits and onto my butt today at work, I didn't fall into the full splits and wind up in the hospital.

It is a grin I somehow inherited from my father.
My husband took the picture and it's on the back of my book.

I'm starting to feel it today. Not on the bum but my legs are really starting to nag at me.

I am glad for Halloween.

It is my favorite holiday.

I am glad for cooler weather and another hurricane season without filling the water bottles or fearing the worst. Wow! I bought hurricane windows with the last of my savings in 2007 - and we haven't had one since. That "insurance" is getting less expensive each year we are hurricane free. In the meantime, I have nice double pane windows, a slow shut, quiet garage door and a more secure residence. When the windows are shut, I can't even hear the rain and just barely an occasional clap of thunder.

I remember on the sailboat turning on the generator and the VCR (remember those?) to drown out the terrifying sounds of 55 knot winds in the rigging about which I could do nothing and watch the taped tv shows with Michigan weather reports long past to keep from looking at bolts of lightning accompanied by crashes of thunder.

I am grateful for a safe place to live.
