The badest tank killer on the market! The A-10 Thunderbolt II was nickenamed the Warthog because of it's ugly looks. It's job is to distroy tanks and bunkers on the ground. And I'd say it does a bad*** job!!! Sorry, but this plane is my favorite plane and it's just to cool. Oh, and that smoke coming out of the nose of the plane, isn't smoke! It's gun powder from the machine gun! (Btw, that's a Warthog I'm standing next to in my profile pic..)

This is the plane my brother flew during the mid-1960's. He was part of the ASW unit at Brunswick, Maine from '65-'67, and in '69 he was a group commander stationed at Cam Rahn Bay. He came home with two air medals and a DFC.
A few years ago, he was showing my nephew - his son - around a naval air base - I don't remember which one, and saw one of these planes on the ground. He and my nephew walked over toward it, and as they got close, they could barely see, faded out under the cockpit, his name, rank and call-sign. It was a goose-bump moment for both of them.
