Yes these are trail horses

We’ve raised and trained trail horses since 1977, and we’ve learned a lot.

Horses communicate telepathically between themselves and with people

They love to learn and they teach one another

They love to play complicated games with rules

They tend to be jealous and must be treated equally

On telepathy :: they communicate over long distances, like 20 - 30 miles, it’s like a silent movie with emotion.

My wife (and another lady) got thrown one time and she called on her cell-phone saying they were going into the woods to look for the horses. I said wait a minute and I’ll see what Ben (our Arab gelding) is doing.

Well he was pacing up and down and whinnying and looking SW. So I told my wife they were coming out of the woods and to wait there for them. Ten minutes later - out they came.

One no no - never (as in never ever) hit them in the face. If you do it’ll be a chore catching them later and worse trying to tack them up (putting on a halter or bridle)

Ben is an Arab gelding (with not the smoothest ride) but tremendous stamina and has such a fast walk that other horses have to trot to keep up. He doesn’t look it - but he’s 37 and (along with our other horse, Gypsy, an Appaloosa mare) has taken my wife to 14 trophies.

Should you wonder, a horse's health is half diet and half in how you treat them (not treat as in goodies) - and they love to be pampered

Great photo shot. I love Arabian horses. Had the chance to visit King Hussein's stables in Jordan. Was presented with a halter from one of his horses. My daughter has it as one of her prized possessions.

This is not good

Some horses drop their hind quarters when they are spooked and they lunge into a gallop (you can see this horse’s hind legs in that initial crouch). That’s not good, because you’re likely to tumble off backward.

We have a Missouri Fox-trotter that does that. Ben will do it when loading into a trailer. He doesn’t like that first step, so he hesitates, drops his hindquarters and leaps into the trailer.
