No shock there, George. I visited your site and am impressed with your accomplishments.

I'm shocked. Not with George. With how quickly the site is gaining attention. The Google bots, Yahoo bots and MSN bots have been busy. We now feature on the front page of Google:

That is really great, Shelagh. I am not certain what the bots search. Do they look for titles or text, or maybe both?

The bots search the site for recent activity. That's how the forum scores points, gets a higher web site rating and appears higher up the list.

In a nutshell, the more imvolved the members are with the forum, the more exposure they gain from their activity. This will not necessarily translate into book sales but it will help with name recognition.

So the bots only look at activity, not topics or text? Interesting.

The activity is added topics and text and jpeg files (book covers).

I just noticed that you have your 100th member!! This board has grown nicely!! My hats off to you.

Thanks Lynn! It looks good but 48 of those 100 members have yet to make a single post and 9 of those 48 have not returned to the site since they joined.

13 members have only made one post and 9 members have made 2 posts, which means 30 out of 100 members have made 790 posts and the top three posters (me, Zada and George) have posted 418 out of a total 821 posts.

The surprising thing is that all the members are authors and here is a great opportunity to promote, market and advertise -- the number of hits to my site has increased considerably since I set up the forum, simply by posting my web address in my signature and posting often.

I have noticed that it seems to be the same people chatting most of the time; still, hopefully some more will feel comfortable adding their two cents/pence/euros.

Wish I could figure it out. I have many smileys, but when I go to properties, it does not show the URL, just that it is in my documents!!

I guess that's because that's where they are Zada! If you want to load them onto the web, add them to imageshack or photobucket or any of the other photohosts.
