| The great thing about this fan page, Joe, is that it grew to over 400 fans with very little effort on my part. I had already done the hard work by setting up the Published Authors Network in 2007. |

| It sure is, Abe. I set out to make my books well known but only succeeded in putting my own name up in lights. Not that it matters. Those who knew me by my maiden name don't recognise me as "Watkins."
I know I have failed as an author -- I don't need to be constantly reminded. However, I do seem to have succeeded at becoming well known in the writing world. Given the choice, I would have preferred my novels to be widely read and enjoyed by readers of all ages while I remained relatively unknown. Your statement and the lack of sales prove how much I failed. |

| Shelagh, You succeeded, but not necessarily in the way you envisioned. I've read many success stories where this occurred. I believe your talents will be rewarded beyond your imagination. Keep doing the things that work without regrets. |

Writers never make a market...all we can do is write. Piss on the rest of it. Domenic |

| Remember, some authors are famous names who wrote a book that sold because of their name. Your name recognition may be the key to your next book taking off like a rocket. And as others have said in this thread, it may yet put new energy in everything else you have written. |

"...ah but one takes that idea a stage further then, where one then creates a persona of oneself, why, because most people remember a persona far further and longer than they do real names or usernames here..." mentioned the goblin who always recognized DK Chriti's posts for the unique style and content, adding "...it only needs to be a lose association then, rather like a family crest perhaps or some company logo, so the things to decide from there are "what", "how" and "how strongly"..."
