| Can you recommend some for our children age 8, 10, 12 and 16 (the 16 year old reads adult). If you can recommend any written by someone from St Vincent that would be a plus.
There is no bookshop or library on our little island.
Thanks

| Dear Mike, I am not sure what Caribbean literature or authors are. You can see about my book Wooffer by looking at my website. It is below my signature. I live in Florida and feel tropical, if that helps. Hahah.
Love, Betty |

| Thanks for the recommendations we will order them. The younger ones write book reports on what they read and if they agree I will post what they say.
We are interested in these works because we have just moved to the Caribbean and we want our kids to fully experience the culture (and gain a less Eurocentric perspective). This is what I meant by Caribbean literature and authors.
Thanks again

| Mike, have you checked out this site? [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I did a unit on Caribbean folk-tales for several years. I cannot remember the name of the book, but most of the tales had an African origin, and were similar to the tales told in the American south, especially the animal fables. Ann |
