Author and editor Smoky Trudeau has appeared a number of times on "Books With Heart" at BlogTalk radio talking about writing tips for dialogue, POV, plot, endings, etc.

These are archived and can be listened to as time permits at: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

They are very practical and often contain a writing exercise. Yesterday's show. for example, focused on endings; a common problem with new writers is writing pas the ending. The story is done, but they won't shut up. Smoky offered an interesting exercise for discovering whether you have written a sentence, page or chapter too far.

In some cases, he first part of the hour is about writing and the second 30 minutes focuses on something else, so many can be listened to rather quickly.

Thanks, Malcolm. Trudeau is a fine writer. I recently read The Cabin - a haunting tale with a very effective ending.

Ann,

I liked both "The Cabin" and "Redeeming Grace."
