| Hi everybody! I'm very new with forums, so please have patience with me. My name is Jay B. Cox. I'm 52 years old. I was born in Galveston, Texas, raised in Houston, amd presently living in Kerrville Texas (small town outside of San Antonio). I'm married to a lovely lady from this area with two beautiful daughters and two very pretty granddaughters (no boys yet!). I have two books published- "Argonia" and "Memoirs of a Mind Toy". My third novel "The Adventures of Little Anthony and Sissy" will be finished and fully illustrated before the turn of the year. I would like to meet other writers who can guide me through this forum and teach me many wonderful things. God bless you all and thanks for having me! Sincerely, Jay Cox PS-I'm so computer stupid, but learning. I have so many questions in my head right now, but will blurt them out later in a random sequence after I have met everybody. |

| Thank you Phil. I appreciate it. I need my photograph up and I would like to learn how to operate this message board properly. It will take some getting used to. Love you web site! Good Job! I would like to learn how to do that too someday soon. I have three books out and no websites for them. Sob* "When is a flower not a flower? When it is dust. When is dust not dust? | Jay, start by clicking on PROFILE at the top of the main page. Then under INFORMATION, click on AVATAR. Follow the instructions from there. The pic will have to be no more than 150 pixels square. It usually takes a bit of fooling around but we've all been there.
Good luck! |

| Hi Jay! It is really good to see you here and finally see your face. You are in the right place, here. These people are both patient and willing to assist for the most part. There are often disagreements, but it's pretty civilized. I think you will like it once you get to where you can find your way around easily. |

| Welcome, Jay. Kerrville is a beautiful place - the prettiest part of the hill country. My grandfather retired there during the 50's. My dad and brother both spent a couple of years at Schreiner Institute (now Schreiner College). I was born in Orange, Texas, on the Sabine River at the Louisiana line, then moved to Houston in 1980, and retired to SA seven years ago.
The hill country is a good place to be. So is this forum. Looking forward to getting to know you better.

| Welcome, Jay.
This is a good group. Just look at how many posts we have all made!
I like the picture and the hat.
I'm not from Texas but two of my children were born there if that counts.

| Thanks Phil for guiding me through the picture situation. Shelagh...Thanks for the welcome. Ann... I have a niece who is now a schriener student, studying to be a registered nurse. Yes, Kerrville Texas is still the great retirement community it has been for many years. I'm going to retire here myself. I certainly wasn't going to raise my girls in Houston. I went to school at Ball High in Galveston and I remember how hard it was for me. Thanks Malcom. I have told my girls no more hats! I get one every christmas. It's gone past of being funny any more. LOL! Gosh Abe...the hat has become quite a converation item. My daughters wear the exact thing but with fuzz all over it.( quite girly ). They want me wearing one practually all the time. If I don't, they say something. They are grown and gone, but still live around here close to me. I'm so lucky there, but they still rule my nest...don't they? LOL Carol....did your children go to Tivy high school here in Kerrville? Maybe my daughters may know them. My oldest, Carmen Cox graduated in 1995 and my youngest Cathy Cox graduated in 97. (Yes, even thier middle names start with the letter C.) Thanks to all of you! I have a million questions and will start again tommorrow when I return from work. I work as a nurse's assistant at kerrville state hospital (24 years). It's a mental forensic unit. Yes, I work for the serious nut cases. LOL! God bless you all, Jay Cox |

| My husband was in the Marines and our first children were born in Beeville, Texas. We left when they were still babies and now they are in their forties and live in Wisconsin.
I have many relatives around Dallas/Fort Worth, and was a mental health professional. Interesting job you have.

| Zada, A special Hi to you! I remember when you read some of my unedited material. I did indeed write a prologue as you requested. It worked! The reader will definetly find her/him flipping back to it. God Bless you Zada. Good to hear from you again. Please keep in touch and have fun with that RV. First go to Maine then finish in California! Sincerely, Jay Cox |

| What special deal PA folks signed up for on Twitter? My twitter is www.twitter.com/dkchristi. In fact, I'm dkchristi on anything the net has to offer. If I'm there, it's dkchristi. So far, I can't say that all the social networking has gained any marketing ground; but it has certainly brought great information and connection to people that have enriched my life. As for hats, I know several men who have quite a collection of hats. Most of them are quite well-dressed and find the hats finish the look - and protect the top of their head. In Florida, the sun is unforgiving, especially for those in convertibles, golfing and generally enjoying the outdoors. |

| Every version of my own name I tried to enter was already taken, so I finally decided to sign in as Ailcy, my 3rd g-grandmother and the heroine of a current WIP. That was a nice deal, though. The museum in Greenville, where the AM Days are held each year, had just contacted me to buy 5 more books. I had depleted my little stock with their last order, and hadn't planned on buying any more, but the two emails popped onto my computer right next to each other, at almost the same time, so what was I to do? Too much synchronicity to let go by.
Jay, I remember my high school's football team playing Ball HIgh.

| Thanks for visiting my website and signing the guestbook, Jay. I'll be updating it as soon as Granny Boo has a cover. It's due out by December 15.
DK, the special deal from PA was if you "follow" them on Twitter you could get 5 copies of your book for $3.99 each (plus shipping of course). I tried all day to get them to no avail. "Voice mailbox full". I finally was able to leave a message so maybe they will still honor the offer.
I had resisted Twitter all this time, dang it! |

| My daughter built me a nice website for my latest novel. Please sign my guest book and let me know you are there. I think she did a great job! She said the music doesn't work yet, but she will try to fix that on her visit next week. God bless you all, Jay Cox www.memoirofamindtoy.webs.com chn11@cebridge.net |
