Interesting. This is basically the same discussion that went on about music when mp3 downloads broke out, and was bandied about on several scriptwriting sites, including the main one for TV writing, in which the webmaster (and TV writing maestro) used exactly that phrase, "paradigm shift" and instituted a new forum for people writing scripts for iPods, mobile phones, youtube, etc.

Interesting interview, and I agree that it really does seem like the music and TV arguments. I, for one, am really looking forward to the day when self publishing provides an author with as much credibility as being published the ol' fashioned way does. It's a tough industry as it is and so the more support [that we give to ourselves and garner from others] the better!
