Congratulations again. The smile on your face, although not recent, still expresses the success you are enjoying. And with a smile like that, How could anyone frown around you?

Thanks George, Abe and Jenny! George, am I seeing double of have you been k-nighted twice? Abe, you're right, I'm always smiling. The deputy headmaster at my old school told my mother that if he heard laughter around a corner, he knew before he turned the corner that he would find a group of boys and girls with me in the middle of it! (Usually a group of boys! LOL!) Thanks Jenny! I received the entry form today too. I don't think I'll win but it will certainly be worth trying! (It's not the winning, it's the taking part. "!*&%>!"$*?!!!!")

Ah, I remember that feeling well. Makes me misty just thinking about it! Congratulations!!! Tie a ribbon around it and wear it. I would. Best feeling in the world for a writer.

That group of laughing boys must have been fun for you Shelagh! I'd have been down the river fishing by myself.

I remember the first fish I ever caught. I went fishing with my elder brother, George, and he had to put the bait on the hook for me. I was so excited when I got a bite, I yanked the line out and it flew through the air and wrapped itself round a branch with a tiny fish still on the hook! My brother had to climb the tree to disentangle the line. He's still single too! You fishermen! You don't get caught do you? ~Shelagh

Don't do much fishing anymore, actually. Caught 86 salmon in the 1988 season over a 3 month period and it sort of became more like a job than a hobby and I lost interest. Nice to know I can put fresh fish on the table though if it's ever a need.

Yeah, he was yummy. I gave him to three old ladies and it was funny watching them running into one of their houses brandishing long knives.

Other things occasionally, but not long knives. It was the three old ladies brandishing the long knives.

Just as well this is my thread, we sure are hijacking it! I know about some of the other things. I read the news article on your web site.

That's Rolf who did the brandishing there. I was just a clerk for The Unit, basically. Damn good one mind you. Sorry to disappoint! A genius with words was how the Unit described me. So how come the agents don't see it?

Gave up being modest, oh, about three months ago. Realised it would never sell any books. Still getting used to the idea . . .
