| They call it "the 'Strongest Start Novel Writing Competition'" and want submissions of the first three chapters, whether the novel is complete or not. They are offering prizes, and the biggest $ prize consists of their services. It seems you must join their group and be judged by other authors as well as being a judge for others. From their site, this is the 1st prize: " First Place
- One self-publishing package for the winner provided by BookSurge, a member of the Amazon group of companies. The self-publishing package will include the following services: unique cover design, custom interior book formatting, basic copy editing services, 10 trade paperback copies of the book, listings with leading retail and wholesale booksellers, including Amazon.com, ISBN and barcode placement, and editorial evaluation (if desired) - Valued at $2,400.
- $500 cash.
- A free year subscription to TheNextBigWriter Online Writing Workshop (valued at $49.95).
- Winner announcement in an email going out to over 10,000 writers and readers. "
And of course, the next prizes are of lesser value. It sounds like a scam to me, but may be legit--What do I know? If you want to check it out, go here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Does it originate in Nigeria? "Valued at $2400." One can place any price tag on what they do. Based on our collective experience on this board, if someone wanted to tap into that experience for information, they couldn't afford it. |

| Sounds like Authonomy. Not a scam, but nothing anyone serious about getting published would bother with, either. Even self-publishers might find the time spent getting ratings and rating others will cancel out the free printing value. |
