You know that it is mostly women who pressure themselves when it comes to makeup. I generally have a no or very little make up rule except when I am speaking to a crowd under bright light. A girl has to have her limits, however, I was on a no makeup Sunday a few weeks back. Bumped into my girlfriend's mother who told me I look tired (translates as "you look like hell") and that I "should be wearing more war paint". I was dumbfounded. She's about 65 years old, and can really apply the pressure!

| Lighting and facial expression can also make a big difference. I try to smile a lot. It takes a lot less energy to smile than frown, so you could call me lazy, I guess.
Out here in the boonies, I have very little call to wear any makeup. One day I stopped at our little store (the only one for 25 miles!) in full war paint. The guy behind the counter took one look and said "Wow! You got a hot date?" And I didn't think anyone would notice. |

Well George, all I can say is, I'm not your kind of girl. I didn't wear any makeup on my wedding day -- apart from my Max Factor Erace under my right eye to cover my birthmark. This is the makeup my husband didn't want: He just wanted me. Still does.

Make up aint much good to you out in the moors in the Highlands in the middle of winter. That's probably why I never got into the habit of using the stuff. Any bikini shots in there?

I don't have any of me in a bikini for you either. Oh well. Enjoy your evening Shelagh, you're a good friend and I consider it an honour to call you such.

Today, I received a request to write a feature about how I self-published my book. I'll be working on it for the rest of the evening. I'm quite excited about it. See you tomorrow.

I thought the highland fellas liked to run around in plaid, not bikinis. If they aren't then I better let my folks know - they're south right now but heading in to Scotland next week and I think she was hoping to see something other than nobby knees (or are they knobby knees?).

How very handsome you look, George! If you are traditional, I know what's under it. I think Pam's mother may be hoping for a stiff breeze!

Yes exactly like that George. You look very fetching in your kilt, I must say. I do know what not supposed to be under it, but if your winter has been anything like our winter, somewhere is a pair of woolen undies that'll also hold a portable heater. You have lovely knees by the way. Nothing nobby about them.
