| We think we have problems only to learn that there are others with greater problems. The following email I received this morning: "Hello friends and family,
Dad took two very hard falls this week, ending up in ER and CCU both times. He is, as of today, in hospice with severe head bleeding, fractured ribs, on oxygen and pain meds. He is not expected to live much longer.
Unfortunately my fiance', John, is in the same hospice and has been in for 2 months due to cancer. He is paralyzed from the chest down.
Please share this with friends and family as I may have missed some.
Penrose Main Hospital 2222 N. Cascade Ave. Colo Spgs, CO 80907
Merl is in Hospice room 616 John Bobbitt is in Hospice room 610"
Note: I received this email from my cousin, Elaine. Merl is my last surviving Uncle. I am concerned about Elaine who is dealing with this problem alone. Any suggestions to help her deal with the sorrow she is facing is appreciate. |

| I am quite late with condolences. I hope she has a religious faith. I envy those with strong religious beliefs as that seems to provide comfort in the most difficult situations. I have faith of a sort which also sustains me in my worst times.
The older I get and the more suffering I see the more I believe that our journey on this earth is not meant to be easy. While some people seem to have an easy time of it, most people spent some portion of their lives in one trial or another. That seems to be the normal way of things. Our life's journey is just that - a journey. |

| Today is the day that John will be given the doctor-prescribed medication to end his life. It is difficult to imagine the difficulty and sorrow associated with this decision. |

Our life journey continues fraught with the challenges of surviving. |
