The gathering in South Africa was something special with 91 World Leaders in attendance. The life of Mandela was celebrated African-style with dancing and music. It was difficult to hear the speeches over the roar of the crowd. President Obama’s speech was extraordinary with much symbolism. Mandela was a man who having served 27 years in prison, even forgave his prison guards. There was much learned about the man. Our President even shook the hand of Cuba’s Castro. That has shocked our Republicans that speaks much about their unwillingness to forgive and their continued hate campaign against Obama. Israel’s Netanyahu didn’t attend saying that it was too costly. Thanks, Abe, for mentioning the importance. I have heard many people talk about his youth that bordered on terrorist activity. It seems his path was laid for him to end his life as a statesman and a person who changed the world.
