("...oh I think the name of those who stood to gain from this are well known..." replied the goblin, adding "...but let's go though a few details alan greenspan worked for j p morgan, then he land the job of chairman of federal reserve, than with great fanfare the glass-steagall regulatory barrier is dismantled in 1999 under clinton, whereupon the banks are now allowed to raid private bank accounts and pension funds to use on loans on anything they wish, those loans are then bundled together and then sold on the investors as bonds while the banks walk away with the profit here, then in 2007 the reality that those loans have been made to those who can't pay back the money, the prime loads become sub prime loans then, and since the bond in this case are housing loans, the name is sub prime housing loans then, but most of them are insured by the AIG insurance, a goverment backed company here the government under george bush foots the bill and is saddled with the mess...", in fact, most people think that it end there but what about those commercial properties bonds, those credit card bonds and the weakest of them all the student loan bonds, all of which are still floating on the stock market now, but the fed and the financial system has enough deviousness to last out until after the elections, whereupon the goblin just smiled "...they can't bailout italy, so the musical chairs stops at that point, but it's only a conjecture on my part...")

repost from elsewhere, the "literary science" thread, finished

and then suddenly, at the very moment that everyone felt that this thread couldn't possibly get any worse, the goblin showed up and simply said "...well yes, I suppose I could waste my time trying to figure out what writing was all about, where no doubt a million conjectures of varying validity have already passed through minds far wiser than my own, all to avail too, so no, for me then, my posting here is ever this journey to self instead, where simply I wish to know who I am by what I post, leaving all those theories, philosophies, and sciences towards writing well alone, much like how I distance myself from those set outdated writing rules too, substituting all that set conformity for actual experimentation and a simple tally/benchmark of self here within the time that remains to me, for whose post is it anyway, never the reader's post now, nor that writer's club post either, so how about its being mine in my own way then, or must I always be like everyone else, and how sad for writing that would be if that were so..."

"knowing who you are could help you write better I suppose...but not if you're stuck in one place...going to the same places for years on end where everyone knows your name and face...getting out and seeing and experiancing new things and meeting knew people can create better or worse memories and perhaps give you an idea of what to write and how you would write...I personally would not write a biagraphy about someone else...the more one experiances and one sees, obviously they become more knowledgeable and can get to know ones self better...though I doubt one would ever know themselves completly..."

("...I like your posts vampire, and they have improved since I have conversed with you back months ago now, where at that time your lines were short, whereas now, not only do you give me your point, you also give me the process by which you came to that conclusion too..." mentioned the goblin wondering if the vampire had noticed as much of herself then, as the sandman appeared once more to the goblin nightly exit)

repost from elsewhere

"...well, just think of all this as one's short journey to self across forumland in posts goblin..." mentioned the slot again kindly enough though, continuing "...for that's all this anonymous posting will ever be for you goblin where, what with nothing to prove nor defend nor with any starting point nor finish line neither, without direction too, and where whatever one posts, however often one posts it too, and however far one posts now, it's ever forumland beyond you still, where somewhere is as everywhere, which is as anywhere being nowhere then, simply that, what with you're being anonymous my dear goblin, you never really were on a medium that never really was, so welcome to your anonymity between us now..."

("...me too, I'm a creature that feeds when called here..." ventured the who needed to edit his posts as well, so this thread had turned active again and the goblin was listening to the vampire agreeing with her that things couldn't be as they were before, and yet, that within this new medium of forumland one could still write something and readers would still read it too, only that they were not same readers as before, for they had neither the time nor stamina to read at length, plus they wanted rapport, whereupon the goblin just smiled, saying "...I'm a realist, they want involvement where I'm here to give it to them...")

repost from elsewhere

"...for me there is both this dailylife around me then, and that which is actually inside me, something that isn't my dailylife so much as my anonymity perhaps but still very much me though..." ventured the goblin guessing one had to render unto each its requirements then, but thinking too, that where things start to go wrong was when someone tried to bring their dailylife part and parcel onto forumland like as if forumland was some facebook wall for irrelevant externals, saying "...personal choice I know, but when I joke that my motto is anonymous on forumland, invisible in dailylife the joke merely states my intention of keeping this forumland and my dailylife totally apart, because if one is ever looking over one's shoulder as to who might be reading this on the one hand, or trying to impress one's readers with one's externals on the other, then honesty goes right out the window, and instead, one might as well skip forumland altogether and simply return to facebook for more dollops of one's externals again..."

I've worked with a lot of writers, and the one thing they all have in common is that they're nothing like that. 99.9% of writers are ordinary people. 0.1% make headlines.

the goblin agreed since he imagined that both psychopaths and schizophrenics shared that same normalness with the writertypes here, where to all intents and purposes, indeed they looked and acted quite normally, and yet, under certain circumstances their true nature would suddenly burst through resulting in dead bodies and inexplicable behaviour in the former, and write-ups about dead bodies and inexplicable behaviour in the latter, yes those thrillers and mystery novels then, in fact, the goblin often had difficulty trying to picture what was the norm amongst humans anyway, saying "...somehow the more normal it gets the more surreal it becomes..."

I'm curious about dialogue. I read through the tips in the proper section. The lessons about using "said" after saying something in a book. But, I have seen where authors who have sold millions of copies have things in there book like... "she said coldly." Or "she said enthusiastically."

whereupon the goblin showed up, though only for a moment and then simply said "...well there are many ways to do dialogue imaginatively now, but some of your best friends are going to be editing, practice and trail and error, and above all persistence, but then again if all your posts were in third person, like mine always are, then you'd be practising that dialogue, and the narration too, within each post then..." at which point the chorus in the background seemed to be waving their hands warning the reader here not to trust the goblin around this point, so the goblin came clean instead, admitting "...well yes, I suppose I should mention that there's no turning back for any persona you settle on to remain credible here, simply that mask, whichever one you choose for yourself now, which is the same thing as a persona isn't it, must become you like a glove fits your hand, but your posts, moreover your writing too, would then benefit by your being forced to narrate each time, possibly using dialogue too, but can I tempt you now I wonder..."

repost from elsewhere, written in the mountains, modified for the "what are you thinking" thread

the goblin is thinking of this daylight moon one often sees at altitude with those strange padded clouds that seem some ever deceptive backdrop in the deathlike cold silence around one, broken only perhaps by a frantic mountain crow who, in passing over those ice covered peaks, never shares the goblin's wish to return to the warmth and security of the valley below, and yes the goblin knew well it's warning as it seemed to voice "...goblin, one's at death's door here, they don't return who enters now, where just your being here quickens your end too, and how the body pays its price for your courting death like this, so return now goblin as you don't belong with us yet...", at which point the goblin's mind raced back to the point where the head mistress had warned the class against the use of drugs, with her exact words in search of your inner man you ruin the outer one, but only now after all these year then could the goblin really reply with any clarity to her and that crow above, saying "...well, it seems that those things which do not somehow ruin the body hardly merit one's reason for living either, where mere "living" in itself was never the point of our being here now, and besides, this transient dailylife was never mine to keep anyway, so now I will descend to that safety of society below but these mountains are the gates of death with its infinite beyond, where just I wanted to flirt to with death a little longer while she bides her time for me..."

"...a small mouse cowers in a hole, shaking in fear of its preditors, yet having a slight comfort in knowing that all it needs to do is be more agile and smarter then what is hunting it to last one more day...and yet others will use simply pure brute force...or perhaps, once again, the hyenas, circling their arch enemy, the lions, but yet not getting to close as to get bitten, just close enough to hope to get what they want..."

repost from "introductions" here, someone whose post had held the goblin to her pen

"...welcome to one of the best forum/venues on forumland then..." went the goblin weighing he words slightly, knowing that something misunderstood was often worse than his actual silence, but then the goblin just continued a conjecture by saying "...isn't the nature of writing changing then, where the readers of yesterbook are increasingly seeking out their authors on forumland, where no, I don't see this so much as a threat but as a challenge, and where many authors may come here to improve their writing skills with some mindset of serious bookwriting against frivolous posting, but isn't it more the truth that if someone likes someone else's works that they will come in search of that author now, simply the forum/venue becomes a back stage-door to the author does it not, where the gap, between the author himself, his works, and the readers around him, just melts away within this rapport between us now...", whereupon the goblin, checked the number of lines to keep the post as concise to the eye as possible, and then finally said "...my bet is that a livewriter can journey across forumland in an amazing adventure, using each forum as his venue then, well I felt that you could be one of them, and thus I welcomed you now, and yet perhaps a livewriter is just one poster amongst the many amongst the millions out there, I mean that the odd against one are so wondrous that they alone make this challenge worth it..."

"the more colorful the bird and the more exotic rituals seem more likely to attract a mate...and yet despite a bird's gracefulness in which it moves and flies, especially the albotross, so it's been said, is one of the greatest fliers of the bird speicies...and yet...some birds are unable to fly at all, instead being stuck to the ground by evolution...no choice for them while having to watch the birds who can, indeed, fly all around them, as if taunting them to break open their forced crippled wings and jump to the air with them, screeching their delight at taking to the air as high as they can go without much worry from others..."
