It's Christmas Eve and a couple were doing last minute shopping when the husband disappeared. His wife phoned him, "Where are you?"
In a calm voice he replied, "Darling, remember that jewellery shop we went in five years ago, and you fell in love with that diamond necklace that we couldn't afford and I said one day I'd get for you?"
Her eyes filled with tears. "Yes, I remember," she said.
"Well, I'm in a pub next door to that."
