| Merry Christmas, Shelagh! It's been a very busy year for me with many changes going on. My co-authored book, "Sins of the Abused" was published by All Things That Matter Press, I've traveled to visit my kids in California, and my business is winding down. Not just for the year, but I'm looking at retiring from it next year. It's an exciting, yet scary adventure coming up.
My wishes go out to all for a very happy and peaceful holiday and a wonderful and prosperous new year!
Love, Helen |

| Hi Helen, What exciting and challenging news! You deserve your retirement, and you've earned the right to spend more time travelling and enjoying life. All the best for 2012; I hope it turns out to be better than you could have wished for! |

| Merry Christmas to everyone there. Even I have not feeling as Chrismas here in Ukraina where I have visited for 27 days, The enviroment here looks as it looked during the first revulution, and dark, dark the evening here just as was the evening in the Betlehem 2012 years ago. |

| Hi!
Thank you, Shelagh!
Wishing all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
My only accomplishment this past year was that my latest novel Catherine's Ring was released by my Publisher and is on Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble in ebook, Nook, Kindle and Print formats. Other than members of the family being hit with the latest virus, and taking longer than one would expect to get over it, our son unable to find a job here had to move to North Dakota, so far away from the Eastern Seaboard and New England. sigh!

| Shelagh,
I joined the group because I self-published a book back in 2002, but never sold a copy of the hardback version, which is the final version of the book. My publisher keeps whatever pennies she earns from the soft cover edition on amazon.com, but I'm sure it rarely ever sells a copy. The 480+ hardbacks are in my garage during hot summers and cold winters, slowly decaying. I contacted amazon.com, but they said I'd need a different ISBN number to make the hardbacks available. I'm not sure how to do that. Maybe you can help?
On the other hand, last year (2010), I began writing some lyrics for a singer overseas. I don't need any help in that area, because it's going fine.
My projects for 2012 include writing some more lyrics (hopefully, a CD will come out in 2012), and working on a little musical for schools (CD and book). I will most likely need some input on how to bring the musical to fruition.
It has been an uneventful year for me. I'm hoping 2012 will have some highlights.
Merry Christmas! |

| Thank you for the replies! I am having difficulty getting onto the 'net. Broadband isn't working, so I'm using an old dial up connection that is taking forever! I'll reply as soon as I can, but it might take a few days!
Sending my best wishes, Shelagh |

| This thread shows what a diverse group of people we are, yet how our humanity connects us each to each. I try to picture Ukrainia and can only conjure up the visions of the Dostoyevski Siberia. I have no education in geograpahy. I hope that Mr. Miller's problem can be resolved.
Elena, I have heard that the Dakota's are the new frontier. Pure air, pure hearts and decent values. I hope your son makes enough money to visit New England often.
Helen, I look at your new possiblities with a smile on my face. Letting one thing go often makes room for something more rewarding. I hope that for you, my kind friend.
Shelagh, Ann, Alice and Joe. What lovely, steady, true friends you all are. I am proud to be part of this forum. I am!
Tomorrow is always a new day. We must remember that.
Love, Betty |

| I want to add my good wishes for a happy and cheerful day to all members of this forum. It's not a white Christmas where I am, but it's Christmas. Got up early this morning and helped get the turkey ready for the oven. The smell is driving the cats crazy. |

| Thanks Shelagh and Alice.
It's been a rough couple of months. I went into the hospital on the 11th of August with a major infection in my spine. Had three surgeries, had to be sapped back during the second one (God didn't want me and the Devil was to busy to hear me knocking.). Ended up they had to rebuild the lower part of my spine. I finally came home the 17th of November, had to have IV antibiotics up to last week. It's all good, I'm able to walk again. |

Thanks, Like I've always said, "Never Had A Bad Day In My Life, Some Just Turn Out Better Than Others!"I'm still on top of the dirt, so it's another good day! Another plus...I lost 60 pounds...went in the hospital at 223 and came home 163!!! I don't recommend the diet plan though! Here's hoping the New Year is a GREAT one for everyone! Don |

| Don,
How tall are you? Was this a VA Hospital? Did you not like the food?
Please do not loose any more weight.
The more I read about your ordeal, the more scared I become.
Take care. |

Take care. Alice, I'm 5'10", I'm at a good weight for me, just need to get back my muscle mass. Not VA hospital. It wasn't so much the food as much as I was pretty much out of it for about six weeks (delirious, hallucinating) until they got the infection under control. Don't be scared...it's all good now! Made Christmas dinner yesterday for Lynn and I. Walked to the mailbox without the cane today. |
