| Are you afraid of snakes, bees, wasps, spiders? Job loss, stock market crash, home invasion? Hurricane, tornado, eathquake? Looking old? Germ? Book flop?
Something else?

| Joe,
Look at all the people we have killed and the money we have wasted on war, we lost.
We should have gone after bin Laden and let the rest go. |

| Snakes are scary because we identify them with the serpent in the Garden of Eden.
When God was a woman, snakes were Her sacred creatures. Patriarchal religions want us to fear them for that reason.

| Would it not be wonderful if all preconceptions were erased from our minds and each person had to think and consider for their own self. Would we be back at the beginning? Who would think the first thought? Who would say it out loud?
Who would be the first to convince another that their thought was the right thought.
I do not think we have come too far off the old knob.
Love,
Betty |

| Not this time ,Alice. There are numerable texts, many of them online, that elaborate the connection between the snake and the early goddess religions. But he does illustrate a point. It doesn't take much research to learn that this individual is one who is so secure in his own masculinity that he doesn't need to control the women in his life. He admires strong women. he married one. She is the mother of his children. He is, of course of a younger generation, that of my son and sons-in-law. I have come across very few men from my own generation who can really handle feminine equality. It's one of the reasons I never remarried. Say what you will, though, since I adopted him as my muse, I have become much more prolific, and my family and close friends all tell me that what I am doing now is the best I have ever done. So, tease away. I can take it. Ann |

| I didn't remarry because no one has suggested it in over ten years. And the prospects are getting thinner all the time. |
