| LC, Thank you for correcting me. I will now elaborate: My husband's job was in jeopardy. I was in school. We had two teenagers and a new house. I went job hunting to try to save our necks. I found a job and took it. The pay was half the going rate, but with the promise of a raise when I was trained. The "training " was given by the wife, the owners were a husband and wife who fought non-stop. The wife did not know the difference between a debit and a credit and argued with me non-stop. I was an honors student in acounting. They were two years behind in their accounting and attempting a computer conversion. The wife would get on the computer after hours and mess up whatever I had acomplished and then delete what I had done so I would have to start over. She also ate lunch with us and commented on what we ate as well as what books we read. She said one had to be error free before they got a raise. The pay was a pittance and could no way pay our bills. I should not have taken the job, I quit after six monthes and had to go back for a year and a half before I could get another job. What would you call the job? From Heaven?

| What does it matter if you corrected mistakes or started over, it all paid the same, didn't it? Did they make you stay long hours after 5 correcting those mistakes without pay? And why do you give a crap about her comments on what you ate and read?
If your husband had lost his job, would you have quit, saying that no job was better than a bad job? |

| Joe, a good idea. Can someone draft a petition that can be sent to them? Or, an email address that we can use. Perhaps drafting a competent statement would be the first step. Like sending a query. Need to get their attention with a minimal number of words. |

| 33 years ago I said, "If I have to work for idiots, I might as well be self-employed." Never looked back. |

I don't know what you mean. Were you paid half of what you should have been paid or what you were told you'd be paid? If so, why didn't you get a job where you got full pay? Who said you should work "forever" at it? And why didn't you just quit if it was so bad? Since no job is better than a bad job. |

It's shocking the way 55 and up are treated in this country, their are laws against it and yet companies still do it ! The Govt., should go undercover and when they discriminate they should be fined heavily $250,000-
Cheers..Joe |
