| A couple of weeks ago I went to the most hilarious poetry reading ever. It was for the worst poetry ever written. Of course, no one means their poetry to be bad, so the sponsor could not get permission to put the collected works into a book, but to hear them read was great, and it was an incredible way to bring a group of nervous university students together before they all had to present serious papers on serious topics.
The readers pick poems of incredibly popular, mostly passed on, writers. And they bring props, like a small rubber shark.
There was one poem (and I wish I had kept the list of these) about a young couple madly in love. The young man is travelling to his bride by boat and is so anxious to reach her, that he jumps in the water to swim the final stretch. He gets eaten by a shark (hence the prop). There were feather boas, an alligator, a tiara, and much more. It was a great event, and I will make sure I make it next year too! |

| Only kidding, Pam. I'm no poet even though I write poetry. Never let lack of talent stop me doing anything. |

| LOL Shelagh, I know what you mean, and I don't let lack of talent stop me either. I'll try just about anything at least once as long as I don't really think it'll kill me. |
