| I did a bit of library marketing about 2 months ago. Today I saw on my sales figures from iUniverse 23 paperback sales to Baker & Taylor in May of this year. This is not bestseller levels but getting 23 unknown individuals to order my book online is a lot tougher.
I have invested more time in other types of marketing, but none have paid off in non-event sales like libraries.

| That is excellent, DT. I have yet to do the libraries, but it sounds like I should. |

| Great, care to share how you marketed to the libraries? This is a tought market to break into and I'm sure others would be interested in hearing how you did it. |

| Well, so far the only library that has copies of my book is the Library of Congress, and that's only because the publisher had to send them copies to get the copyright registered and to obtain an LCCN. So at least my book is in one library. |

| I appeal to the aquisitions department of the libraries to consider my books based upon reviews, awards etc. I don't twist arms I simply ask them to consider the item for their collection. A surprising number have added my books. Both large and small libraries have responded.
To get an idea, go to www.worldcat.org type Rooftop Diva into the search box. Put any U.S. zip code into the location box and hit search. Other libraries also have it that are not using worldcat's system.

| Direct marketing then. As usual, the best approach is simply to pick up the phone (or send an email) and ask. Thanks. |

| There is a source that libraries nationwide consult when considering purchases. Naturally I forget what it is. |
