| There are some trustworthy online banks, but like you, I want one with a building. However, people invest in paper all the time through brokers and that paper is often through a bank or entity unseen. |

Cheers..Joe Do you trust banks that are "brick and mortar," Joe? Like DK said, brokers and bankers today are at least as much a part of that "unseen entity" as they are about real places, and "money" is often just a paper or electronic transaction that isn't backed up by cash. That's why we are in such trouble these days, it seems to me, anyway. Ann |

| I don't trust banks that are brick and mortar. I don't trust Wall Street either. However I did receive one penny of interest from my untrustworthy brick and mortar bank, so for now, I will stay with them. |

| If I ever get past it, I have a story to tell about my credit union that'll curl your hair, or straighten it. I boil if I think about it, so it's a down the road tale. |

| I love Paypal, and it's a bank that only exists on the web. |

You have to tell the story, I just joined a local credit union because my bank was charging me extra for ATM use, the credit union also has a Christmas club which I need.....

| I like paypal also; however, they have made mistakes and are often hacked.
I'll tell my story step by step. Step 1: I consolidated all my banking to one bank, my credit union. All income was direct deposited or deposited by me to the credit union. All my bills were paid from the online bill pay system, some automatically. My house mortgage and car loan were through the credit union. I had a savings account, a checking account and a money market account. I had my credit union account since 1986. I had one credit card, the credit union credit card.
I paid all my bills first by credit card and second by online banking. I accumulated nearly 100,000 points (21,000 per round trip airline; 11,000 per hotel room if spent) planned for the dream trip of the future.
I had no other banking relationships except the credit union. I had a local office nearby. I paid off my credit card every month and kept my expenses within my income to not pay interest yet also gain those dream trip points. I managed all my finances online, checking often to make sure I was spending within my means and moving bits of money here and there among the accounts when needed.
This is the rosy Part 1. |

| DK, HOW ABSOLTUELY REVOLTING! My hair is curled tightly and my tail is iin a knot too. Banks can be so frustrating. If the customer makes a mistake he/she is charged a fee. If the bank errrs, the mistake is simply corrected. This is not fair in my sight. You should have been reimbursed big time. |

- Subsequent to that experience, I stopped the automatic deposits and automatic payments. I opened two new bank accounts and had one automatic deposit made to one, and one to the other. I moved my online bill pay to one of those banks. I started carrying three debit cards, one for each bank in addition to my main credit card. I also stashed money in a safe access place since no one pays interest these days anyway - might as well put it in a mattress.
Such a wise move DK in my opinion. These institutions seem to be getting worse at customer service. |

The credit union I belong to so far good, I only know of one person who use to work with ( She's in her 20's ) who got a phone call from someone claiming it was the credit union , they needed info., we'll guess what she gave it to them and got ripped off, it wasn't the bank but a scam and she had the nerve to blame the bank ! I told her you should have came to me first...I would have told you don't do it ! Cheers.Joe.. |
