Alice's book arrived. What a good thing.
Family dinner can wait. I'm up to page 6. Alice, I remember the cistern next to my grandparent's back porch, and washing dishes after heating the water for the dishpan.
Speaking of the good in taking out the garbage, my Dave learned about that one in kind of the same way as Alice and the bathroom (read the book.)
Dave would volunteer to take on that dreaded job whenever I called them all together to clean the house. Once he had done his job, though, he would disappear into the neighborhood for several hours while the girls and I did the rest of the work.
Sorry, but I have to read now.
