Brass rubbings Empty
PostSubject: Brass rubbings   Brass rubbings EmptyFri Aug 06, 2010 3:46 am

I can't resist them! We visited Bewdley earlier this week (met up with one of my husband's old school friends for a round of golf -- it turned out that the landlord of our B&B went to the same school!). The landlady suggested that we did a tour of the museum before we left Bewdley (she organises the Bewdley festival every year).

In the museum's brass foundry, there is a seating area for children to do brass rubbings:

The child in me just had to do a brass rubbing of a dragon:

How fun! When I lived in Korea we went to old temples with exquisite reliefs and wet rice paper to dry on the relief. Then we had a choice of mounting it as it was or adding charcoal. I wish I had some of them still. They were elegant.
