This novel is a hybrid. By that, I mean that the e-book (available on OmniLit) was published by Vanilla Heart Publishing, and the trade paperback (available on Amazon) was self-published by CreateSpace.
Why? Well, print-on-demand results in non-competitive retail prices compared to offset printing. So, I have an 808-page paperback that sells for $24.50. Needless to say, big-name authors are selling hardbacks for less than that.
On the other hand, the playing field is more level in the world of e-books where "Garden of Heaven" is only $5.99 on OmniLit. So the big, 240,500-word novel is done and I can now focus on something a bit shorter.
Curious. Then head out to my website at www.gardenofheaven.net
I began this novel in 1993 and wondered if it would ever be finished. Now, I need a bottle of Champagne or some Scotch or maybe both.
