| http://www.aolnews.com/nation/article/omar-ramos-lopez-is-accused-of-using-the-internet-to-disable-cars/19404804 An employee of a car dealership was fired after it was discovered he remotely disabled the starter of many customer cars and set off their alarms. He also did in-house sabatoge, such as placing large orders of GPS items. What bothers me most about this is the complete lack of security this business had around something as sensitive as the ability to shut down people's cars. As internet controls get more intrusive, watch for more of the same. I hope the business is held responsible for at least making the up the lost pay and inconvenience of the car owners. |

| LC,
I think we have seen a good example of the lack of concern for lost time and inconvenience of others.
When Marie asked for admittance into the Chatter Box so that she could delete her posts, I asked a simple question: "Would you like to cancel your account here?"
That would have been easy. A click of a button and the account would have been cancelled. |

LC...
A few years ago my niece told me she found grandma's social security number ( My Mother) I said impossible, because she died and I thought they destroyed those records, so I went to this site, it had to do with deceased social security records, I was in shock I found my Mom's my step-fathers, two friends, my step-brother. Each page lists when they were born, when they died, when they got their last SS checks and their social security numbers. I was so upset I sent an e mail to social security about this, anyone can take those numbers and use them. We'll to my shock their answer was : " Dead People Have No Privacy " That was not the issue, any illegal can get these numbers and try to use tem. I gave up, the govt. is stupid ! Oh yes I tried to find my father's , he died in 1956, evidently in the 1950's through the 1960's they destroyed those records..

| Joe,
I don't think you have to worry about those social security numbers. They cannot be used by anyone when the person has died. Those numbers are a great resource to genealogists with good information.
