| A coin made out of the rare-earth metal Yttrium isn't something you see every day. This coin I bought off the internet for $24 is a beautiful example of this rare element. There are many interesting coincidental connections between Yttrium and my life. The atomic number, 39, is the same as the address of the house my grandpa lived at and my mom grew up at. The element's symbol, Y, is the last letter of my last name. Finally, Yttruim's atomic mass 88.91 is my birth year in reverse. 88.91 reversed is 19.88; just take out the decimal and you have 1988! Mayby Yttrium is my metal. |
