Time, Writing, and Friends Empty
PostSubject: Time, Writing, and Friends   Time, Writing, and Friends EmptyMon Jul 20, 2009 1:22 pm

I like everyone here.

However, as I mentioned in a post some time earlier, I have been examining what I am doing with my time. And while I really enjoy the conversations I've had with my friends here ... I need to cut back the time I spend in front of the computer screen.

It is too much like TV addiction. I am removing myself from most of the forums I belong to and from MySpace.

I truly consider most of you my friends. If any of you are my MySpace friends and also have Facebook, I am keeping Facebook and would love to add you to my friends list there.

Or contact me at my email address link on my website.

I am not dropping off the planet.

But I've decided that time on the internet has become a thief to me. It it like material things.

We don't own our material things, they own us.
And time on the internet is now stealing my time.

I need to regain some balance in my life.

Thanks for the lovely times!

~ JoElle the Elf

I'm going to really miss you. It's a real problem that everyone has to face. It's like leaving school or college or moving house; everyone agrees to stay in touch but life gets in the way.

Good luck! Take care and never be afraid to call by and say hello.

It was the best of times!

As Shelagh says, it's a problem most of us have faced, so I understand. I get more writing done when I stay away.

Good luck, JoElle, and I'll be checking the freeways for that green truck and white trailer.

Don't just leave, JoElle. Drop by now and then. I agree that possessions own you and time spent on the internet isn't always productive, but a little now and then can't hurt.

JoElle, it's not goodbye, just see you later. I think of you whenever I see a truck on the highway and say a little prayer for you and your family.

Sorry to see you leave, yet I see the challenges of maintaining balance when one is confronted with multiple forums and social networking sites. Where do marketing and collegiality end and time-wasting begin? Hard to say.

Take care and good luck.
