| He's not a disgrace, Alice, he's just a little shit that doesn't know any better. It's been a tough week folks, forgive me if I'm not long on patience with idiots. |

| I dunno ...Chris, what are you so mad about, seriously. You seemed alright for a long time, and I liked your posts. A bit inexplicably obsessed with Publish America, but you added to the forum. What is it you want? |

| Take care of yourself Don. Getting riled up over nothing (reference the alien) is not worth the effort. |

He is being blamed and used by a group of people with their own agenda. Now we will receive a denial. They apologise in one breath and attack him the very next breath -- and all because of past arguments. It's interesting to watch the way they tear each other apart. |

alright for a long time, and I liked your posts. A bit inexplicably obsessed with Publish America, but you added to the forum. What is it you want? Not sure how far back you go here, LC, but Turkel has a long record of deception that many remember. He hijacked somebody else's name and photo--got busted when the person showed up to denounce it. (That would be grounds for banning and any forum I know of) He claimed to have written a book that didn't exist. He used to link to a site in which he claimed to have written several books... all of which turned out to be out of print and/or publisher doesn't exist. He pretty much posts on forums only to make trouble and lie to people. And people resent it. I've seen two references to him "adding to the group" and posting good links. That's a strategy he adopted a while back, running around finding things to link to. He actually contributes almost nothing on his own to any forum he's on. He uses linkbait to justify his presence...hard to say why he wants to be on. Or why he wanted to be in the chat box when he has almost nothing original to say. I beleive he is the only person ever banned on this forum. Any other would have banned him long, long ago. And banned his ISP to make it harder for him to pop in under false names and throw feces. Anybody can spend time googling around and come up with writing links to post (given enough time on their hands, which Turkel obviously has, and obsession, ditto). That doesn't make them a valuable community member, just somebody who is worming into something in order to be a pest (and probably because nobody will talk to them in real life). He's not a victim of some conspiracy, and not abused by this forum. Quite the contrary |

| Most of what you say is true, Lin. However, Chris has done very little to offend me. Yes, he uses more than one account. He's not the only member to do that. Different reasons, maybe, but he's as entitled to multiple accounts as any other member.
He has become embroiled in something not of his own making. He was behind the badeditor post on Live Journal because he felt that contacting a publisher to check up on someone posting on a forum was a low thing to do. I have some sympathy with this. I don't think that naming and shaming was an appropriate way to retaliate, but I did understand the reason behind it.
The way that the "named and shamed" has gone about trying to make amends is comical. Members from this forum are desperately trying to put the blame on Chris for everything they are doing. Of course, it's all my fault.
At the first opportunity that presents itself, Chris will be given full access to the forum. The whiners will have to find someone else to blame for their strange behaviour. |

| Well, maybe we have a different approach to reading forums. But to me when somebody argues and contradicts and bases it on being a published author, I very often check the book out. I think most people do this, actually.
And if I find out the book is a fraud, and the person has been lying to augment what they are saying with false authority, I certainly mention it. I think that's only natural. |

| That's a good point, too, Alice. A guy saying people aren't "really authors" because they paid to publish... when he's never published anything himself?
Apparently he hasn't offended Shelagh, but he's sure offended a lot of people here. And the antipathy towards him predates this blog BS by a long time. |

| Depends on what the point was, I suppose. And I do think somebody lying about having written a book they didn't... and imputing it to a publisher when it's not true... is kind of serious.
If it just doesn't make any difference if anybody backs up their discussion relevance by citing lies, then fine. But the idea that it's somehow a worse behavior to check it out than to do it is, I gotta say, damned weird. |

| Rise above it, Alice. You don't need to pull down people who pull themselves down.
The Joker tried to turn me against all the UK members of the forum. What did we do to the non-UK folk here? |

| I wish somebody would publish a program of all the players in this.
Well, no, actually I don't.
But if zizban says he wasn't somebody, it's good as gold because he never lies about his identity. Or where he lives. Or what he's had published. Or... |
