One Lone Mosquito Empty
PostSubject: One Lone Mosquito   One Lone Mosquito EmptyMon Apr 27, 2009 6:03 pm

Today, Monday is my day to clean the house. I put everything where it is supposed to be, clear out the clutter that piles up. Under the grill cover, David had stored a can of Yard Gard. It has been there since last spring laying on it's side. I picked it up and put it into the big Rubbermaid bench thing that I keep the bird and squirrel feed.

My David is a little set in his ways...my opinion that he would deny to no avail. I thought no more about it because it has been a whole year since he thought about that can of Yard Gard.

All of a sudden he burst into the room and asked where in hell his can of Yard Gard was. It did take me a minute.

I explained that it had laid on it's side under the grill for a year and I put it in the big rubber thing that kept the bird feed. You would have thought I was an idiot for sure. "Why do you move my stuff!"

I think I blinked a lot.

I said, "Well, it is not far. It is in the big rubber thing."

Snatched it out, he did.

He screeched that a mosquito was out there!!!!!! My goodness! One lone mosquito????

Wait until the rains come. I do not think there are enough frogs in this world. God pray for frogs.

Love,
Betty

For some reason, mosquitoes have not been much of a problem here, even though we are less than a mile from the swamp. I think it is due to the wonderful bats that live here somewhere.

Perhaps they stay in the wood shed, but I can't say for sure. I just see them swooping through the air at night, as they go after the bugs who are attracted to the yard lights.

It is too early for them right now, as it has been quite cold still. But I do go out on the porch at night to watch for them. Any mosquitoes had better run and hide!

Watch it, Marie!

OK, sometimes we can be a little unreasonable. Just don't mess with our stuff.

Ah ha! The men do thieir part to lose things permanently. Case in point--Daughter-in-law and I went shopping. I spent in excess of $60.00 on yarn to make a sweater to wear to Nova Scotia

I coudln't find the yarn. I asked Dave where he'd put my yarn.
Of course he had never seen it .

The conversation went like this:

" You threw my yarn away!"

"How dare you accuse me of such a thing?"

"How dare you do such a thing?"

"I did't do it"

Finally the night before the garbage was taken away. I went out and looked in the can--what did I find?
$60.00 worth of yarn. One Lone Mosquito 94519

The mosquitoes are leaping out of larval state on the shear humidity of the air. No, wait! Those are gnats! Nasty gnats! Hover around your eyes, swarm the hairs on your legs, and God Forbid your dog rolls in some possum poop! Don't breathe in fast or talk with your mouth open or you won't need meat for a week.

Love,
Betty
