| We visited the Aerospace Bristol Museum today. Not quite on the scale of the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, but full of some wonderful planes, missiles and space rockets. We walked through Concorde's cabin! |

Good for you! Thanks. |

| Activity in my world is concentrated on health issues and getting prepared for winter. Health issues involved getting a bed installed, similar to a hospital bed, where one can raise and lower the bed as well as adjusting the head and feet. In addition, an apparatus was installed in the bath tub to enable my wife to slide onto the seat and be lowered in the tub without assistance. All thanks to the Health Care provider we have. Got my car winterized together with an inspection that indicated a problem with the drive shaft. Having that repaired tomorrow. The savings on one issue was countered with an unexpected expense on the other, and so it goes. Choir practice last night for the upcoming “Volkstrauertag” together with songs for Christmas that we will be singing for the patients at the annual event at the Clinic. Soon it will be time to trim the trees. I’m waiting for the leaves to fall thus insuring that the trees are no longer producing sap and can be cut without harm. I will need to replace my shredder due to the amount of tree limbs and branches – another expense. That, Alice, is what I am up to. |

| Singing was fun and good for the soul, unfortunately the singing voice deteriorates with age. Singing practice has now become a chore, especially learning new songs. In the recent past I sang solo parts when they were in English or English related. I sang two solo verses of “The Rose” at the last performance with the Church Choir. The accolades were rewarding. In the Men’s Choir we are practicing the song: “Du Grosser Gott”. It is the German version of the song: “How Great Thou Art.” I sang a verse in English while the choir hummed the melody. In preparation, I listened to Elvis Presley singing that song. I’m no Elvis and could never emulate him, but by the same token he would not sound like me. Hitting the high notes is a struggle, however with some improvision, it works. Many singers use improvision with popular songs making their own version. The worst part of any performance is the angst before the event. The relief when it works out is a reward in itself. The applause tells the performer how they did. |
