PostSubject: Terrorist threat   Thu Sep 28, 2017 12:49 pm

The latest terrorist threat is with food.  A man was caught on video putting poison into baby food jars.   The police have a description of the man wearing glasses and a hat, however they believe it could be part of a disguise.  The incident occurred at a town by Lake Constance.  Switzerland, Austria and Germany with nearby Italy are on high alert.  In the meanwhile, grocery stores are checking their food stocks, especially baby food.  Consumers are advised to check bottle caps to see if the seal has been broken and to notify store personnel if there is any question about the product.  That also applies to bottled water, primarily anything with a screw cap.  Consumers have been advised to look at the cap on jars.  There is usually a small dent in the top resulting from vacuum that pops when the lid is opened.
I recall an incident some years ago when living in the Atlanta area where food was poisoned by some individual.  I don’t remember if they caught the culprit.  Being cautious and alert to any abnormality is prudent regardless where one lives.  In my book, “They Plotted Revenge Against America”, the weapon used was a virus.   One tends to think of terrorists carrying guns or explosives and dismiss the silent or invisible weapons that can be used to kill.

FYI
They caught the guy planting the poison in food.  It will take time while it goes through the courts before he is convicted.  Many are breathing a sigh of relief.  In the meanwhile, this incident has brought awarness to the consumer.
