PostSubject: Accusations   Mon Mar 06, 2017 12:16 am

What are your thoughts about accusations?  Should the burden of proof be on the person making the accusation or on the person being accused?  Although there are legal recourses for those falsely accused (they can sue for defamation of character or slander, etc.,) should the accused be expected to respond to the accusation?  Is there a difference between a public figure and a private citizen?
We heard accusations against public figures concerning sexual harassment.  There was the recent case with Bill Cosby.  Women have also made accusations against Trump.  Now we have Trump claiming that Obama ordered a wire tap on his campaign headquarters.  Do we expect Obama to refute this claim or should Trump be expected to provide proof?

How do you feel about being the victim or the one victimized?

The White House staff are insisting on an inquiry, and if the outcome goes against them, which everyone expects it will, then further accusations will sound hollow. It's a risk they are taking in the constant battle against the press.

Not sure how truthful this is, but it gives an insight into why the accusation about bugging is being made:

First, this wire tapping fiasco was dragged up - remember, it happened quite a few months ago if at all - to take attention away from the Russian connection.  And, because people are easily misled, it is doing just that.  As I said before, Bannon (the source of the reporting from which President Trump drew to make his accusation) is an expert at deflection and alternative facts.  President Trump always says what he wants whether it's truth or lie.

So, before any investigation goes into the wire tap that could not be ordered by the President anyway but rather requires a court order that substantiates wrong-doing and is approved by a three-judge panel, - the real investigation by a special prosecutor and bi-partisan panel needs to occur.

First, let's save our nation from foreign intervention and then look at the wire tapping accusation that has no foundation.  The Russian connection does have a foundation.

Based on his track record todate, anything Con-Don says is suspect.  The truth will eventually come out.

Anyone who makes an accusation should have to prove his case.  Otherwise, it is just that--an accusation.

Since we are a nation of laws, our laws proclaim innocence until proven guilty.  Other nations have the accused proving their innocence.
