The Future

We are told to look to the future and not to concentrate on the past.  What about the present?
What will the future be like if we don’t take care of the present?  We require drinking water and food.  How will the environment affect our food supply?
Droughts and flooding are on the rise. The Polar Ice Cap is melting.  Food doesn’t grow in flooded areas.  Animals also require water and food.
What about our polluted rivers and streams?  How will it affect the fish that swim in them?  .
Unless we take care of the present, we won’t have a future.

There are those who feel that there is a benefit with war in that war helps to reduce the population.  How many volunteers are ready to sacrifice their lives?

Although Socialism is seen as a negative, it may be the only way to help extend the lives of many with neighbor helping neighbor.  There may be a need for farmers to band together with Co-op facilities to house and distribute food supplies.  The evil we have fought against in wars may in the end be a positive thing.  IMV greed is the primary culprit.  Capitalism, with everyone for themselves. may become detrimental to our survival.

Expanding nuclear capabilities for political and monetary reasons further increases the danger to our survival.   Researchers are busy developing drugs and methods to extend our lives while the burden of sustaining those lives is ignored.  For those who still deny climate change, they should talk with farmers and gain insight on how the weather has affected their crops.  The use of insecticides seeping into our water and food supply is part of the pollution.  Feeding livestock with hormonal substances to accelerate growth is already affecting the effectiveness of anti-biotics in humans.

The Native Americans knew the importance of taking care of the earth and the animals that inhabit it.  http://www.pantheism.net/paul/history/native-americans.htm.

Greed is destroying our world.   We need to concentrate on mother earth instead of spending money on weapons of destruction.  We have but one life to live and that life should be in tune with our environment.   Earth is currently our world.  Whether we have a second chance with another life is speculative.

The future is now.
