Why are we more attracted to terrible topics?  Ann was  a dedicated poster who killed  no one and we did not mourn her as we have DJS.  Just curious as usual.
Maybe I felt she was under appreciated because she was  my friend.

Ann's loss was just as sad, Alice. I was sorry when she died, but felt that she was at peace with her family and, in particular, her granddaughter. Don's death was a terrible event that not only caused me sadness, it brought me to tears, and still does. I was publisher to both Ann and Don. They touched my life through electronic communication, as did many other authors. To think of any one of them suffering tremendous pain and anguish affects me deeply.

When I searched to find out if Don had died -- his latest avatar suggested that he was not well -- I never for one moment thought that I would be reading that he had died under such tragic circumstances.

Ann is sorely missed by me and I was heartbroken at her sudden passing for which I was totally unprepared - even thinking we'd someday meet.  I felt she and I shared some common experiences and I respected her intellect and determination to write with perfection.

Don's death and the circumstances are shocking and that is why it merits such discussion. I can imagine Shelagh's shock.  I am so glad she looked for information.  I am sad for her to receive news that was outside our realm of consideration.
