American people that's why their all  being voted out of office in 2016 .... Read on..

"Should have known"?  How can one possibly predict what can happen?
Imagine the reaction if she had shut the door and refused to admit refugees.  It is one of those situations where you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.  The problem will be sorted out, but it will take time.  Rushing to a quick fix won't work.
Being a humanatarian and taking a risk is better, IMV, than ignoring the plight of so many people.

Let the dust settle before making accusations or predictions.

News reports this morning talked about the problems in Koln where people are reacting to the New Year's Eve attacks on women and are taking matters into their own hands.  They are making it more difficult for the police to conduct investigations and find the culprits.  The obvious danger is that any person who looks different could be assaulted.  That hasn't happened yet, but it can happen.  With patience and common sense, I am optimistic that the problem will be dealt with in a proper manner.
There will most likely be isolated incidents where innocent persons (migrants/refugees) will be subjected to violent acts against them.  Those involved taking these knee-jerk reactions themselves become criminals.  Law and order must be observed and enforced - no exceptions.

When I was in Germany in 1968, there were "guest workers" from other countries, young men who were brought into Germany to do the work Germans did not wish to do - just as Mexicans were brought to the U.S. to do the work U.S. citizens do not wish to do.

These young men worked hard during the week, but were in a class to themselves.  They hung out at the train stations on weekends. I traveled alone quite a bit.  In their country of origin, women did not travel alone unless they were "liberated" and "available."  Thus, I was approached several times.

One of the many issues with large waves of immigrants is the cultural dictates that may be quite different than the country in which they arrive.  Many of the waves of immigrants settle together in communities and support each others acclimation - or not.

In Miami, many people live through generations without ever speaking English.  Everything is in Spanish.  It may be the same in some large city Chinatowns.

New arrivals need mentors to be sure they are aware that our religions and beliefs provide for a high standard of moral behavior but it just looks different on the surface.  We, too, have our groups of religious people who dress modestly and live according to non-modern values.  The difference is we have an ideal that suggests we accept differences instead of condemning them.

David Cameron has promised to negotiate a referendum with the EU, with the possibility of a referendum later this year. It will be interesting for the whole of Europe to see how strongly the Brits feel about immigration, and how many vote to leave the EU. Sweden has spoken out about reducing the number of immigrants, and France had a growing right-wing faction even before the Paris shootings. This time next year, America will have a new President and the UK may be out of the EU. It will be an interesting year.

My feelings are: "All people belong to God." True all people are divided by culture, religion, color, etc.
Man can make no set of laws to fix the problem. Standing in the cold are hungry children who are starving, and have no control over their situation. Let them in, or don't let them in...but feed them, and give them a warm place. I can not understand how anybody can say, "Keep them out so our life won't change." These are living people who need help. I see black people in America protesting, "Black lives matter." sorry, "All lives matter." If the blacks want to help the poor blacks...go into the slum areas and start making it better. People need to stop thinking about their life, and start thinking about the stranger who needs help. It does not matter if a person believes in God or not...it is the right thing to do." No what if's, or butts about it...help those who need it." If you only have half of a loaf of bread, share it with the person who has nothing. I believe in God, and I often wonder how he can love the human family? All most people think about is their own wants.

Domenic, I too feel it is the duty of all to have compassion and help those in need.  When one has been there - so to speak, ones perspective changes.  People who have lived with luxury cannot understand those who struggle to survive.  We can't change attitudes of the masses, but we can do our part however small it may be.

Joe, everybody in every country says the same thing...they want their country brought back to its glory.
What was the time of glory for the United States? from 1776 t0 1865 many people were slaves in these United States...so the glory was not during those years. From 1865 t0 1909 the native Americans were being killed for their land...so those were not glory years. From 1910 to about 1960, many (black) Americans did not have full rights...those were not glory years.
That only leaves from 1960 to 2010...I don't remember any glory during that time? We lost the war in Nam, most of the young population got on drugs. Education went to hell. prices went up. Crime went up. We lost most of our rights...was there ever a time of glory? We put our nose into every countries business and got everybody mad at us.
I think the best time for the United States will be when they beg England to take us back. This thing about the people ruling..has not worked out. It's really bad now..they have 18 drop out of school yoyo's on drugs voting. Face it Joe...this country is a dead duck. All the men, and women who died in all of our wars died for nothing. If they could be brought back alive, and see America today, they would jump back into the grave.

Domenic, agree with your take on the "glory" years.  Looking back is different than going back.  We can never go back, however we can learn from the past assuming we want to learn.
I think Obama's State of the Union address was positive.  It is expected that political opponents will object and put a negative spin on it.  People want things to be good, yet dwell on the bad.
"We become what we think about most of the time" is a quote by Napoleon Hill.  We are drawn to what we hold in our minds.  If we dwell on the bad, we can expect more of the same.  Changing a mindset is not easy.  Seeking solutions must have a world view.  We are affected by what happens elsewhere whether we want to recognize it or not.  No country or person can survive in isolation. We need each other and it is imperative that countries work together and that people work for the common good.  The golden rule applies.

Joe, no disrespect, because I do respect you…but you are living in a dream world. Why do you think God will bless America? America is doing everything God says not to do.
Let me give you a little history since you said, “God bless America.” I assume you are saying you believe in God? Here is a little Bible knowledge: God never gave man the right to rule over other men. The first to do so was Nimrod…Nimrod was an enemy of God. You believe people can vote into office who they want?  If you believe in God, you must also believe in his son Jesus, and Satan. When Jesus was here on earth, Satan took him to a high place, and showed him all the kingdoms of the earth, and said, “If you worship me, I will give these to you, for I have been given the authority over them.” It’s pretty clear this is Satan’s system of things. Satan controls this world. Do you think he will put anybody in control of any nation he can’t control?  You, me, and the next guy can vote until the hair in our nose turns to gold, and Satan will still put into control over all the countries who he wants. God says we can’t stop what Satan is doing…God says he is the only one who has the power to stop Satan.
I’ll tell you what is going to happen as the scriptures warn: Satan will come as the savior of the human family. He may come as an alien, and might have some story about how they planted us here, or something. I know UFO’s are real, but I tell you the truth Jose, God never created other beings…there are no aliens…they are demons. Whatever he does people will believe, and follow him. He may even claim to be Jesus. Christians will know he is not because Jesus said when he returns, he will return with a sword to kill, not make peace. Here is a suggestion Joe...study your Bible, and learn what it says is taking place now, and the near future…that way you won’t wind up being one of the millions who get fooled by Satan, and follow him. If you think this world is crazy now, well, I assure you, in the near future you will look back on today as the good old days. God says if he did not stop it, no flesh would survive. Before the Great flood, God waited until there was only one good man left…Noah. I hope God does not wait until there is only one good man left again. As a friend Joe, I tell you, talk to God and read your Bible.

Shelagh...The people who try to live by the Golden Rule, have no control over this earth...those in control are making up their own rules.

Gang rape, an established practice in muslim culture, is spreading across Europe. Do Americans want this to take root in the states?

Americans don't want their stupid got. to make the same mistake as Merkel, I
read today that Germany is on the edge, people are tired and fed up with Merkels stupid
mistake, the article states that vigilante groups are growing because Germany can't
protect it's people, too many immigrants and not enough police ! So that's why in the USA
Americans are having a revolution for the first time since 1776, they finally woke up and saw
how this country is being destroyed by both parties and no one not even me wants a regular
politician.....

Isn't it interesting how one has no clue they way the USA is being destroyed
by the liberal left ? And yet Americans have woke up almost as if in a coma for 8 years
after the Pied Piper of Hamlin took over, yes we have risen and opened our eyes to see
what destruction the Liberal Left has done to this country and now their running scared
like Liberal Left Hillary who's sinking in the poles and that Communist Sanders who doesn't
have a chance in hell...We don't want politicians anymore, period ! I'm stunned that the
German people who I thought were smart allow Merkel to get away with what she did ? I
do know in the next elections heads will roll....Plus I believe any European country who
allowed their borders to be open from country to country is and was a fatal mistake now
their paying a price, every country must have strong laws, if the govt. in this country
decided to have open borders their would be riots in the streets, and the people would bring
the govt. to it's knees, they forget : " We The people. For The People, By The People."

The things you are saying Jos, sound just tlike the people in Germany were saying after WW1. They blamed the Government for the condition of the country...they even blamed the Government for the common cold. The wanted all Government out, and a strong man of the people in...the door was wide open for a man like Hitler.
Let's look at the Number one problem in the United States and Europe...JOBS. for year's companies have been moving to China. How often have you heard, "Everything you buy is made in China." The people blame the Government? Why do they blame the Government, it was the unions that forced business to move because of high wages. Here is a point that hits the nail on the head, Joe...if people did not buy stuff from China to save a buck, those companies who moved to China would have had to come back to the States, or fold up. It was not the Government buying the stuff...it was the people. The people in their greed to save a buck, supported those companies that moved over seas. How often do you buy stuff from China Joe? Americans buy food from South America..why? There are over 2.5 million farms in America...why do the people buy food from South America? It is the people who are destroying the country joe...not just the few in Government. The next time you buy something Joe...remember it is you the people who make, or break a country...it is not the government. 27% of the American people live off the government...
Do those 27% care about the country? No they do not...but they are the ones who complain the most about government. "Give me this, give me that." Kennedy said, "Don't ask what your country can do for you, ask, what you can do for your country." He understood it is the people who make, or break a country...to tell you the truth Joe, I wouldn't give count on the American people to save this country...all the good Americans already died off.
