| It takes about two hours to download andinstall, but you don't have todo anything but watch. I got it on both my laptops, my desk top and my tablet over the last week. |

| You can't just download it. You need to go out to microsoft and reserve a copy, they will then download it automatically on their schedule,. They will do a systems check when you reserve it to make sure you computer can handle it. I got mine about a week after reserving it.

| Sorry for the late reply--have not been checking in. For anyone else wondering, it can also be downloaded directly from Microsoft for free IF you have a valid copy of Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 running. Vista users (and XP) are out of luck.
I downloaded it as soon a it was available but reverted to Windows 7 for my main office computer because MS Word 365 locked up every single time I loaded large files (which when working on a textbook is a very real pain where one sits). Wasted two days uploading, tweaking and then uninstalling. Now I'm left with Windows 7 AND Word still does not work right--which was not the case prior to the upgrade. I'm working with tight deadlines and wasting two days of work--Thank you, Microsoft. I bought Corel Office x6 recently and should have started this project with it instead of the bug-filled bloated monstrosity that is anything with MS before its name (I have 8.1, Windows 7, Vista and even XP still running on my other PCs). I am reinstalling Office 365 as I write this--still unable to get back to work. I will install Windows 10 on a secondary machine at some point but am not kindly disposed to the OS with my limited, painful trial. And yes, my computer exceeds all of the hardware requirements for the upgrade.
Anyone with older hardware and limited RAM think carefully before switching on your work computers at least. My experience may be an anomaly, but I sincerely doubt it. |

| Victor, you sound like my son who is a computer guru. Anything with MS on it starts him on a tirade. He's been using freeware for years because he can modify it for any system - it's open and in beta. It has glitches, but he knows that going it and is prepared and able to fix them himself without ruining the rest of his systems. I have to have Office because that's what the publishers want. I tried converting to office from one of the freeware systems but it was slightly imperfect in its translation and a bother.
Thanks for the warning. I won't be doing any changing as everything I have works well for my needs at present. |

| Downloaded 10 on two of our computers, and so far have had no problems with it. I still use Office 2000, simply because it has always worked so well. I've never had a problem with it, so I see no need to change. I have one of the newer versions of Office on this laptop that I'm on right now, but seldom use it. I have no idea what the newer versions do that are better than the old one. |
