| 6/16 This is a very important issue for everyone, who do you think will be the next President of the United States in 2016 ? I'm already dizzy by the numbers as of today I believe there will be 14 or 15 Republicans two new ones will be added today Bush and Trump, Democrats I believe four..What are you thoughts, wishes and hopes for 2016 ? Will this turn into a three ring circus ? The field is getting so crowded,,,......And they all feed you the same bull .... Cheers..Joe... |

| I don't think there is an answer to that Joe until the parties have made their selection. The GOP will have a problem deciding. |

| Given the ages of some members of the Supreme Court (four of them are over 70), I hope that whoever it is will be the Democrat party's candidate. |

| 6/16 I believe in all the group, Bush is a wanna be not wanted, I think Trump is going to give Hillary a big run for her money, he has no political connections so he owes no one, he's a business man successful. I think it's time we don't put someone in the White House who's a political whore ( Meaning they owe everyone and anyone) They would bargain with the devil for that position ! Joe......... |

| As an independent observer, I would predict that a half-decent Republican would win. Whether such a thing exists remains to be seen. |

| 6/16 don't think there's a half decent politician, there just in it for the power, glory, Money I don't think so money under the table oh yes ! I do believe for decades we have had the same old same politicians their all crooked that's why I believe we need someone who has no connections and all these politicians have plenty there are only two one is Donald Trump who's a business man very wealthy and Dr. Ben Carson who has no connections, I do believe that Donald Trump can and will take Hillary one on one and guess what she will fumble so badly why because she can't lie straight now ladies don't start that gender crap just like you started the race card, you know and I know Hillary would sell her soul to become President she thinks she's entitled and I have further news the people of this country are getting tired of the Liberal Leftists who are trying to change this country for the worst, I would love to see some one who's the middle of the road, as I've said before I'm not Democrat, Republican, Independent, nor right nor left God forbid..... We need someone who can put this country back on it's feet and trust me it's not going to be a connected politician......I'm dying to see all these turkeys in a political debate for two hours, I think they would kill each other !!
Cheers...Joe |

Bernie Sanders will never make it here maybe in Russia.. Americans will always stand up for their rights, we would never ever allow anyone to turn this country into a socialist republic, as for all the morons in power right now they don't know their arms from their underwear ! In eight years they have almost destroyed this country, boy talking about the public drinking Kool Aide ! It's the end of the democrats and the republicans..

| Just heard Donald Trump's Presidential Bid speech. If you want to hear arrogance, listen to his speech. He will blow Jeb Bush out of the water. I have a feeling that this time around, the citizens will be more involved. They will vote for what is best for them and that means social services are important. Without a safety net, unless you are already rich, your life sucks. The fear factor is destructive. Fear of losing what you already have along with fear in losing SS and other survival programs is no way to live. For those who still associate socialism with communism, they are simply ignorant. That is cured with education. Refusing to learn leads to stupidity and with that, there is no cure. |

| 6/16 As I had a discussion with a good friend over lunch and it's true from what I heard Liberals will scream until their blue in the face and the funny thing is they were once called " Socialist," so since they were despised they changed their name to " Liberal," as if the American public didn't know who they were, then they and their leaders became the Pied piper Of Hamlin and for eight years many of the American people were drinking Kool Aide now all of sudden awoke from their dream like state realizing the Pied Piper of Hamlin was a fraud, lier, manipulator, and the funny thing is he never even helped his own people like he promised.............. Now as far as the ship of fools ( Republicans,) are concerned there's not one in the bunch who I would give a vote for or even a dollar for... Cheers.Joe....... |

| Labels cloud the ability to talk about real issues. Fortunately, my best friends think entirely different from me so I have to see their side of things to continue respecting them.
1. The conservatives I know are wealthy. They are not dependent on their social security. They have excellent insurance without looking forward to medicare. They did well in investments and have a secure retirement ahead of them. Their only fear is that the government will take away what they have through taxation and programs for the lower economic classes and less able. 2. They believe that because they were able to create such perfect lives for themselves that anyone else not so well off is a slacker and deserves their lot in life. If they would just get off their duffs they would have jobs, education and the same future as my friends. 3. They believe that the government's support of less able people drains the resources they earned and that they should not be paying taxes that support legislation in which they do not believe: food programs, healthcare for the indigent, education programs, etc. 4. They believe that schools should be by voucher or even better, paid for by parents and not be government, with the right to educate their children in religious principles if they wish and eliminate all the education materials that they consider immoral and liberal. 5. They believe that all government agencies should be eliminated or privatized so that Washington, D. C. could be closed and states could take back the regulation of their citizens, every state by its own culture and beliefs. All legislation regarding equalizing treatment of citizens, eliminating prejudicial behaviors and protecting the rights of women should be eliminated and let the states wisely rule as they did in the past. 6. They believe that President Obama hates this country and set out to turn it over to Kenya (some Internet things that caught on with even intelligent people). They believe that leadership is the right of white men. 7. They believe that Christianity founded this country and should continue to influence its laws. While that is also not true, it is a commonly held belief among my friends from which they do not bend. 8. They also believe that immigrants are an anathema that saps money from the existing systems for the less able and steals jobs from white men and women. 9. They believe they need to live in communities of like minded people with gates and guards to protect their property or with lots of property guarded well to make sure they associate with people who think like they do. 10. They believe they have a responsibility to help the poor so they may volunteer their time and talents for local charities and contribute their name and a very small percentage of their wealth to charities from which they might benefit also. Generally it is a charity that touches them personally through loss or experience. 11. They enjoy glamorous events with a charity umbrella where wealth is evident but a charity also benefits. 12. They contribute to candidates that they feel will support their points of view and have the capacity to become elected. 13. They hate liberals with a venom different from the past when party rivalry was not so emotionally engaged. They see "liberals" as they see a mongrel dog after their pure bred female. They see liberals as giving away their country to the unwashed masses and destroying their perfect lives and lifestyles by pointing to ugliness and imperfection and wanting to fix it by spreading the wealth and legislating against injustice. 14 They see liberals as taking away their rights to run their own lives as they believe tradition dictates. Liberals wish to control who they allow into their businesses, who they must serve, who they must treat with medicine, who they must educate and in what schools, who is admitted to schools, who they should hire, what rules and regulations must be in a business for safety and workplace pay equity - all these rules interfere with their ability to make profit without complications, profit that they believe will trickle down to the needy without government interference.
I get this from my friends by word, at parties, through email, on Facebook and repeated often to "convert" me back to where I belong in my thinking that became warped by world travel, education, experience and compassion.
I don't want to take anything away from anyone. I do want to face the reality that this is not 1950s and the U.S. has a diverse and dynamic population from which great things can be accomplished by re-igniting the workplace, rebuilding infrastructure, revamping the education system and making higher education at no cost to students. We're not going to send the dark races back to their origins any more than we are going to send the white races back to theirs. This prejudicial perspective has got to come to an end to use the intellect from the youth available. White people are having dogs instead of babies. Youth is the hope of the future. We need to quit killing them off in ghettos, incarcerating them, undereducating them and wasting their intellect through malnutrition, lack of health care and neglect.
A youth oriented president and congress is what we need. Not one that ignores the needs of the elderly but one that recognizes it's time to empty out the ghettos and the prisons and fill schools and training and apprenticeships and put the entire country to work rebuilding bridges, designing cities of the future, and innovating in ways that uses the future to create new jobs, not moaning about losing hideous jobs in coal mines or destroying our coasts and coastal wildlife with oil rigs and living in fear of global competition. Build our own competitive edge through patriotism - work.
Respect for the elderly requires support for their needs. They brought the country this far and like our military, they deserve care in their later years, regardless of how many they have. An old woman pushing her grocery cart with all her belongings in it and sleeping under a bridge because she never qualified for social security is a shame on this nation.
It's time for the president and congress to stop fighting over stuff and dig into the wheels that run the states and the nation and fix the flats. It's time for cooperation and collaboration not in-fighting. That means bi-partisan everything that doesn't depend on the decision to be re-elected but rather the outcomes. It's time to measure productive outcomes, not how a legislator votes. |

| 6/17 Isn't it interesting those democrats who scream the loudest against the wealthy ( NO I'm not wealthy nor on their side,) these democrats include Nancy Pelosi who are so wealthy they stink ! There are hundreds of Congessmen Senators ( I saw a list posted one day on AOL of who was worth what, that includes the Vice-President and The President, I don't see not one knowing this country is in such deep crap give back their salaries saying I don't need this the country needs it to help re-build , no way they are pure greedy they stay in till their so dam old they don't know what century their in they evidently never read the Constitution which states you get in do the job and get out, it's not a career, evidently someone changed the rules, so I say it's time the American public stand up and start putting up laws they can vote on and this way congress will be forced to do the job..I remember when Ross Perot ran for president he said something that made me stand up, every time Congress wants to make laws, get a salary increase, go to war the public has to vote on it if they vote "NO," guess what Congress can't do it, it's called " The Will Of The People," not their will.....Oh I can't wait for August the first debate it should be a zoo.. Cheers...Joe....................... |

| I agree about the debates. Some of the least able will start to fall out. The pitiful part of the debates however is their lack of information about how they will behave as leaders. What they say in the debates is carefully choreographed to appeal to the in-between voters they are trying to get that turn the election.
The democrats will vote for a democrat. The republicans will vote for a republican. It's the people who are undeclared and the people who don't usually vote that both parties will write their speeches to catch.
Nothing that is said in a debate is real. It's like a play. It's like watching a candidate in a movie. It's all script. Some people are better on their feet than others. Some really talented people need acting lessons. Some talented people could fool anyone. |

| P. S. When I was in my 30's, I should have run for office. I often was called by the local cable station to do interviews when they had cancellations. I was very community involved and happy to drop whatever I was doing to get the cable exposure. One of the interviewers said I never left dead air space and I could say more about nothing and make it sound like something that was popular with their audiences than any other interviewee they had on their show. Yep, a perfect political candidate. |

| 6/17 As I have said before Bernie Sanders could only run for office in the Kremlin against Putin, he's so far left I would leave my own country! And trust me Hillary isn't far behind him but I read the other day he's making Hillary go way down in the poles , people are starting to question all the scandal she's been creating and yes all the hundreds of millions of dollars going into the foundation from foreign govts...sounds like a bribe to me . but the biggest joke I heard today someone claimed Donald Trump would have Oprah Winfrey as his Vice-President, I almost threw up !!!! | Donald Trump epitomizes the current primaries for the joke that it is!!!! There is not one of the clowns running that should be considered qualified to be President! Every one of them are nothing more than a self-serving, ego maniac that will say anything they think will get them a vote. Not one of them has the best interests of the United States on their minds. I look at this list of prospects and it makes me glad I’m on the way out and not just getting stated.
God help the country!
But that’s just my opinion. |

| It is recognized that political candidates will say what they feel the people want to hear. Some are better at lying than others. Body language often says more than what comes from their lips. Having said that, how can we evaluate a candidate except for what they say they stand for and/or will do once elected? I'm not 100% for Bernie Sanders in that I don't know his stance on the M.E. Being a Jew I'm inclined to think he would support Israel although he has said that he is not a fan of Netanyahu. The things Bernie says about domestic issues I agree with. He is coming across as a champion of the poor, the elderly, Veterans and the disadvantaged in general. His comments are humanitarian. It is not just what he says, but also his record that speaks. His debate with Greenspan over the economy was interesting. He was forceful and didn't back down. I found this especially interesting since Greenspan is also Jewish. If Bernie Sanders is his own man, I can see him as an effective President and someone who will work for the middle class. He is against big money and insists that the rich pay their fair share of taxes. Once again, is this political rhetoric or does he mean what he says?
In the end, we as voters will wind up voting for the best of the worst. Too bad we can't write in the name of a person when we don't want any of the candidates selected for us. |

| 6/17 I had a good friend in NY, she was a film editor, she was Jewish and very Liberal she used to tell me this is the way a politician will work the public, I believe it ! " DAZZLE THEM WITH YOUR INTELLECT AND BAFFLE THEM WITH YOUR BULLSHIT,".......... In other words tell the public what they want to hear and as far as I'm concerned that's exactly what they do...
