| I found the following website to be of interest: http://blog.peerform.com/top-ten-most-socialist-countries-in-the-world.
Is carefree living associated with socialism? |

| Thanks, Abe, for giving us a new topic we can dig into.
I personally, once again, see the need cor a balan ed response. In this modern world, we need to understand that people often need help to get through their challenges and are not lazy or wrong when they have a few.
On the other, a free market economy, while needing a bit of updating and reform, still offers the best road to a free lifestyle.
Just waking up. More later

| There is often an event that prompts a post. The post about socialism had its origin with friends of mine seeking a new place to live. My Jordanian friend referenced in my book “To Beirut and Back” formerly married to the cousin of King Hussein, divorced and married a girl from Austria. With the threat of ISIS, they are looking for a new home. His concerns are more related to conducting business while her interests are living in a mild climate near the sea and also being close to mountains. Both are concerned about security/safety. They asked my opinion and we have been corresponding about that as well as events in Jordan. They spent two weeks in Florida looking at homes and trying to get the feel of living there. They were also concerned about too many people carrying guns. I didn’t recommend Florida giving the excuse about reptiles, humidity, hurricanes, etc. A factor I didn’t raise is that he is Arab and Muslim. Although he doesn’t practice his religion and according to his wife, hasn’t gone to a mosque since she knew him. She is Christian, but neither practices their religion. He is also concerned about convenience of travel, and since most all his business is within Europe and the M.E., the location of Florida would not be a good one. My concerns are that his background would endanger them living most anywhere in the States. Having done some research, they may have decided on Cyprus. I visited Cyprus only once and liked it. It has mild climate, is surrounded by water and also has mountains. Business conditions are excellent and travel is convenient. I had thought about Holland; however the downside is that the country is too flat. In searching the I-Net, I also looked for places that would suit me. A prime consideration is having a good healthcare program. In a previous post, Denmark was said to have the happiest people in the world. Was it the social benefits that created their happiness? I believe so. I don’t think there is any Utopia; however I believe there is a place on earth that can provide most of what one seeks to enjoy life. Capitalism has its positives and negatives. I see stress as a big negative. Someone once said that America is for the young and I believe that. A young person can start a business without much hassle and make their way based on their abilities and energy. On the downside, an employee has risks as he/she ages. Their marketing value decreases and upon reaching retirement age can become forgotten or even neglected. In a socialistic society, seniors are taken care of and don’t have the concern about healthcare, a place to live or having enough food to eat. In some societies, seniors are honored and valued for their experience and wisdom. My opinions are my own. They are obviously formed based on my personal needs and wants. |

| OK, third try. This past week, I have been beautifully treated by people in all fields from every country, culture, and political backvround thete is. They ha e all been knowledgeable, helpful, and uplifting. They have reinforced my feelings that there is no one correct outlook, only different perspecti es based on personal experience. No bad guys. The more we discuss and interact, the .ore we can broaden our outlooks in positive dire tions. |

| Agree. I think our experience influences our outlook and perspectives on many fronts. The problem is in accepting an outlook from someone with limited experience and narrow views. In the end, we either reject or accept a persons point of view. |

| Agree back. The trick is to find ways to hep those with narrower perspectives to keep an open mind. |

| Opening minds is not easy. Experience does it quickly. I used to want only female nurses, but found the men are very good too. |
