Help with publishing Empty
PostSubject: Help with publishing   Help with publishing EmptyFri Mar 04, 2016 8:45 pm

Ok, I'm new:-)
So, I'm a flight instructor looking to publish a 'self-help' book on how to learn to fly. They don't teach us much about publishing in pilot school, but it seems like a way to gain credibility with students. I'm also hoping for a supplemental income during bad weather months. I have started looking into self-publishing and all the ones I've found are not discussed favorably here. Anyone want to learn to fly in exchange for publishing my book:-)

This book was published in 2007 by Thames Hudson. It is only available in hardback. I didn't check for other books, but I suggest that you should. There may be a gap in the ebook market to fill. Non-fiction books are easier to place with a publisher than fiction stories. Contact publishers with similar titles and send a detailed proposal outlining the book. Here's a link to the book on Amazon:

The market is significantly different since 2007. The significant difference is my book is how to learn to fly. I have a 'new angle' with a modern approach. Great advice though, thank you.
